Cooling for 8700k/9700k/9900k

Hello there,

i am in the process of upgrading my pc, but was wondering if the nzxt kraken x62 aio was enough for the 9900k and the 9700k
im not planning to overclock the living hell out of them but a moderate overclock is a nice thing to be able to do

i just dont want to get the 9900k and have a system thats constantly overheating and thermal throttling

does anyone know if this cooler should be enough for the 9900k or should i stick to the 9700k?

Yeah that is a good choice for the 9900K. An X72/H150i is better, but not everyone has almost $200 to blow on a cooler

thank you for the rapid response
i agree an x72 would be nice but considering i have the p400d from phantex and am using the drive cage below im unable to fit that size of rad inside, otherwise i would have definately gone for a larger cooler

Get a good AIO has it is cheaper than a custom loop but with a loop you can always upgrade it to have more components into the loop and rads. But remember overclocking is free power. For aircooling BeQuite or Noctura.

My Rig: CPU: i9-9900k (5Ghz), Ram: 32gigs 3600mhz DDR4 CL16, MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus z390 Ultra, HDD: Samsung 970 Evo 500gig x2, Samsung 850 evo 250 gig, 2 TB Baracuda 7200 rpm,6tb WD Black 7200rpm, 4TB NAS, GPU: Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Master
