Arma 3 What CPU is best? Below £500

So I have a Ryzen 7 1700, but I want to upgrade and I was wondering what is better for gaming on Arma 3, a Ryzen 7 2700X or a intel i7 8700k 8th gen? I have a GTX 1070 ROG STRIX so I believe im fine on that part.

What about the 8700k?

You'll have to change motherboards, and you can use zen 2 chips in the mobo you have. And with the shortage, intel is an expensive way to go

I’d hold tight for zen 2. You won’t have to switch platforms, and you’ll get more of a performance increase than going to a 2700x.

You made a mistake there. You added the AIO cooler to the Ryzen build, which is unnecessary since the Ryzen 2700X comes with a stock cooler. The 9700k however does not come with a stock cooler, which you are missing from the Intel build.

So it should be more like...
