Want to buy a RTX 2080 Ti but what about failing cards?

I keep reading about people's RTX cards dying. Therefore, I am a bit reluctant to get a new RTX 2080 Ti. Should I wait a little bit more until all the issues are sorted out?

The failing cards so far appear to be limited to the initial batch that some how escaped QA.

Wasnt it issue with only founders edition cards and cards that used the same pcb? Custom cards shouldnt have this problem?

If you are really worried but still want to buy them, just don't buy the Founder Edition cards since they are made of more metal than 3rd party cards like Asus or Msi.

Agree on this. I believe when supply increases prices should adjust a bit

They're releasing the Titan GTX too.....YouTubers keep doing sneak peeks of it.  I'd give it a few months-personally I think the new cards are pretty lacking in value with the ridiculous price hikes from 10 series.

Edit:  RMA rates have still been very low, I wouldn't worry about that.

NO worries man, the intial batch is history, what you will get will be from more recent batches or what not.

I wouldn't worry about the failing cards, but as a 2080 ti user,it falls just a bit short (with recent rumors of a titan, you are paying 1200 for what would no longer be the fastest single card), it's overkill for 4k/60, just right for 1440p/144hz, but if you have to run 4k/120 ever in the future, it falls just short, not to mention the card actually runs on full load in the last 2 scenarios. I see at least a price drop.

Mine's a Palit RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Pro OC bought at around initial launch here in my neck of the woods (Sept 28th), so it's the first batch I guess. Running great, handles all games at max ingame @3440x1440, heck, Metro Redux at absolutely max setting (SSAA at 2.0x) and it's still smooth, only my 2x VEGA 64's can more or less match this.

Go for it, I just received the Samsung GDDR6 instead of Micron which failed in couple of days.

Avoid serial numbers starting with 0323xxxxxx.
