PCPartPicker part list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cXfmxY
Price breakdown by merchant: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cXfmxY/by_merchant/

Video Card: Palit - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB StormX Video Card  (£144.98 @ Ebuyer)
Total: £144.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Is 144 euro straight from partpicker. Then there is the fact you DON"T need a new PSU for this. If your current machine is booting and running fine, then it will still be fine after adding this card.

nice to know

Well if you are set on the 1030 then go ahead, but I think you are making a bad choice. That isn't going to be a purchase I think you will be happy with in 5-6 months. Where is you buy a 1050ti you might need to wait more upfront to get the money for it, but it will also last you a good deal longer and on top of that it can play newer titles and older titles with very decent fps levels.  Maybe you can pick up the fad of most kids your age and start playing fortnite.

The GTX 750TI is not only much cheaper used on eBay without bids (which you can do because GPU's don't wear with use), but only needs a PSU that can provide at least 300W, which yours does, without any external power. It draws its power right from the slot just like the 1030.

Not only is this the faster option that is also cheaper, but it works fine in your system. Did you do your research?

You'd only be bidding for a 1030

These 750TI's at $45-35 are all Buy It Now offers.

Here's an example. I don't know your country so I can't speak for local offers there for shipping but with some poking around on eBay you'll find those cheaper cards still have free shipping.

Most of the used 750TI's aren't bid offers

When my 9500 gt died, I bought a gt1030 gddr5, played battlefiled 4 at low and mesh at high at 90 fps, also test it on fornite like 3 times everithing at low and two settings at medium at 80-90 fps. So yeah, I really think is a card when you are on a budget and know what you are gonna play and at what graphics.

MSI z490 tomahawk

GT1030 doesnt support GTX features like Shadowplay or Gsync while GTX 750ti does, and even the GDDR5 version is no faster than the old card

GTX 750ti + PSU ($25) is probably cheaper than GT1030 alone in the first place

i'd go with a gtx 750ti anyday but my psu doesnt contain a 6pin connector

Look mate, you can buy the GT1030 (make sure its GDDR5) but there are GTX 1050 without 6pin requirement and it's a better card not only performance wise but it has all the GTX features like ShadowPlay.

Bottom line though is that you should get what you can afford, if a GTX 1050 Ti is out of your reach but you still wanna game really bad don't let any one stop you from going GT1030, just be warned it's performance isn't the best.

You never mentioned the rest of your system but if it has an outdated CPU and such it might even be the more senseful pairing.

It's a screen recording feature that doesn't negatively impact performance for the most part.

Just my two cents but it seems after reading through the entire thread, OP is not interested in opinions that don't agree with them purchasing a GT 1030, and is simply looking for folks to agree with them that their choice is a good one. IE pointless thread.

From a budget-minded standpoint the used 1050 Ti is a much smarter idea, as is a modern PSU.

It should have been clear when they stated that they only play games from 8 to 11 years old that there is a degree of trolling - obviously hundreds of varying titles are newer than that and anyone who enjoys pc gaming can find several worth checking out. I work full time and go to university full time and still squeeze in a few days every semester to check out new games...
