Status update: Android x86 works perfectly its just Ubuntu as far as I am aware, I may try to get another SSD and try another Linux install over Ethernet later but for now Android + Windows is de wei! O3O

  • Discord
  • Firestorm (or another Second Life Client)
  • Firefox
  • Basic text editor that can edit most files
  • Image viewer & maybe gimp or a paint clone
  • VLC & Music player

Linux issue could be a bad writer program or, just a bad Pendrive.

What do you use to write the image to the USB or, do you use Live images without installing?

I use my old ACER laptop running Ubuntu to make bootable USBs, also I had no issues with 14.04 except the graphics drivers after replacing the Nvidia card... :c

I'm not a Linux savvy but, maybe the way Ubuntu writes the kernel creates some issues?

 

Have you tried a different Linux distro? Here's a good site if you need suggestions.

Almost all the issues I've had with Linux was because of a bad write to the USB. (It's really picky sometimes)

Make sure to quote or tag people, so they get notified.

The issue was still there when doing from a Windows 10 machine so I am not sure... :s
