Just looking for a laptop capability enough of pushing just one low end game at 1080p while still light enough I can use it for ultimate frisbee. Size of ssd doesn’t matter but there can’t be a hdd of any kind. Looking to spend around $1500.

I need to hold it with one hand, a hard drive and full size laptop defeats that purpose

Edit: I want to be able to hold it with 3 fingers

Why keep suggesting MSI laptops. GV62 has OK-good cooling and OKish build quality. Has bad TN or low sRGB IPS. GS65 (not G65) has even worse build quality and cooling despite much pricier

Where are you from? 1500 in USD? Any preference on weight, display quality and battery life?

I'm in California, weight is most important and I plan to play games at 30 fps when I'm not on Netflix. I just need 4gb vram cause I don't want any culling at 1080p. You can see what I mean in this video.

I can just run the weight through a calculator. Seeing as its not meant for gaming, better resolution and battery life would be nice, but I'm down to save $2-300 if it meant I have to shave those off.

So you don't have any particular preference on weight and battery life?

I'd like to to be so thin and light I'd have to use a paper weight on it when outdoors on a windy day

You want to play low end games in 1080p with 30 fps?

Tbh any 2018 integrated graphics can do that....You don't need 4 GB of Vram to do that.

Btw, If you want to play games, video ram is the last thing you need to consider, the gpu is what you should consider. A 1060 with 3 GB of vram is gonna kick the ass of 1050ti with 4 gb of vram.

What you are looking for is an thin and light ultrabook. XPS13, Thinkpad X1carbon, LG gram, surface pro/laptop are all decent choices.

What games do you want to run? The XPS 13 can handle e-sports titles like Rocket League DotA 2 at 1080p low.

Although, you could grab the Asus ZenBook 13 . Though it has only 2GB Vram ,but this will allow to play esports titles at 60 fps high med settings 1080p. I have the Asus ZenBook Pro 15 it's really solid great build quality and no QC issues.

That's a really low weight. Fine with 2GB VRAM? (you won't utilize 4GB since GPU like MX150 isn't that powerful and video settings used are low)

yeah I accidentally put that weight without thinking, but I then had something to compare it against and I figure the weight being as low as possible was worth having a weaker gpu.

So you're fine with 2GB VRAM? Or you're OK with more weight?

The problem is not many light laptops have 4GB VRAM dGPU

Here are the good options, all with MX150, 25W variant indicated with *

Asus UX331FN - soldered RAM, OK-mediocre cooling

Asus UX331UN - soldered RAM, OK-mediocre cooling

*Asus UX430UN - soldered RAM, cannot handle 25W MX150 (throttled)

Huawei Matebook X Pro - soldered RAM, mediocre cooling

*Lenovo Ideapad 530s 14 WQHD

HP Envy 13 - soldered RAM, OK-mediocre cooling

Acer Swift 3 SF314-55G-50PM / SF314-55G-51SC - low sRGB IPS

Slightly heavier than 1.5kg:

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14 - OKish cooling

Asus UX461UN - soldered RAM

The asus at the very end and the lenovo very intrigue me, I'll keep them in mind as the ces price drops occur.
Also I found this guy at bestbuy at 1.8kg with a 4gb video card. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-zenbook-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-512gb-ssd-matte-black/6070102.p?skuId=6070102

Guess it narrows it down to these 3

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming
