2nd opinion on casual build

Bennoid

Hey Guys

Haven't made a build in years so looking for help to assemble a build for a friend. He needs to make 3D plans in Sketchup and Revit for a recently started course and his laptop is not cutting it. After all these years, he would like to have a desktop again so he can work on his projects during the course and maybe for his future job. He wouldn't mind it if it could play some games, he's totally not a hardcore gamer but he likes to game once in a while. The most important thing is that it's a decent rig and he won't have to upgrade in the next couple of years to play a game in medium settings. His budget is about €900-1000 for the system.

I first made this assembly (prices are in Euro and from the website www.megekko.nl which has the best prices in the area):

Spoiler

€235.00

€87.00

€70.04

€ 1091,49 (bit too high)

I already asked for some advice and they gave me this:

Spoiler

€165.00

€83.95

€ 922,84 (Price in the sweet spot but I have bad experience with AMD and kind of prefer Intel :s )

So do you guys have a second opinion for me how it could improve or what I should go for?

The second build is definitely better, not sure about the Vega 56 and mobo though. I think getting a 1070/1070ti is a better idea than a vega 56.

The 1070ti is a €100 more expensive, it even just went up and is now €140 more expensive than the Vega 56. Is it really worth the extra cash for my friends needs?

Is the Corsair RM650x a good alternative for PSU?
