OS SSD VS GAMING SSD

Hello everyone, first here are my specs:222222.JPG.5abe332e42b4ac016737757a157a2d15.JPG

 

I have been using my new ryzen pc for about 3 months and I noticed that it feels slow. I realized that the M.2 SSD that I use for my os seems to have slow 4K performance and random performance for reads and writes.  My 4tb drive is for games and the Toshiba ssd is for the os. I play a good amount of ARK survival evolved and I noticed a good amount of hitching (when the game pauses for a sec to load data into ram) when moving around the map most likely due to a ton of textures loading in. And yes I tested the graphics settings at all resolutions ,graphics levels, VSYNC, and GSYNC and I still get hitching in games like Batman Arkham knight ,ARK survival evolved, battlefield 1, Blackout in COD 4, Skyrim, Fallout 4, etc. Also speccy for some reason messed up the amount of memory my 1080TI has, In task manager and hardware monitor the memory is correct. Here are my questions:

 

1. What is the best M.2 Operating System SSD (or a small list of good ones) that will make my system snappier and more responsive? I am looking for any ssd over 250gb, 1tb recommended.   (Can be SATA or NVME) 

2. What would be a good M.2 SSD for open world games that require textures to be loaded in and out constantly? (Can be SATA or NVME)

why is you ram in dual channel at only 1500ish mhz?  or is that just what the thing is displaying and it's honestly 3000mhz?

1500 is the single data rate. It's at 3000 because it's DDR.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

Its at 3000mhz but speccy display's the ram speeds like that.

i figured that it was 3k, but wasnt positive. i mean, the ssd could have something to do with it, but that 4k speed isnt the end of the world. however, i NEVER have had problems with ARK being jumpy cause of RAM not having the map textures... even with ark on the hard drive of RIG 2... so i don't know why it's so bad for you... is the GPU overclocked to cause the hitching?

No, my gpu is running at stock speeds. I even went into the nvidia control panel and set the global settings to maximum performance.

i honestly have NO clue why it is hitching then. sadly i'm useless here now.

For 3000MHz memory. they should not exceed 16-18-18-something. I think you forgot to enable DOCP or XMP or AXMP and just raised the memory frequency.

My motherboard has no xmp option. Got any recommended timings and or frequency?

check what the XMP profile for the memory sticks are.

There are no xmp, they are value ram.

I mean you can find timings used by proper 3000MHz kits and copy them over. Gskill or Corsair or Team Group or Kingston etc all publish that.
