New SSD not recognised anywhere!

p9trov
Go to solution Solved by p9trov,

Okay so I figured what it was eventaully while fiddling about, my power supply cable seems faulty and used the same power cable that I use for my HDD and it was instantly recognised!

So I got myself a snazzy deal on cyber monday blah blah, I have now got the SSD and ended up installing it etc however it is not showing up anywhere (BIOS, Device manager or Disk management).

I proceeded onto updating my bios thinking damn im out of date for the supported ssd perhaps, tried different cables and ports still nothing...

SSD being installed is 860 EVO,
Mobo: Gigabyte Z170 XP- SLI (to latest bios update)
BIOS also in AHCI mode

Is the SSD i got just dead on arrival or am i failing to initialise it or something else?

Thanks in advance!
