This is a complicated question (capture cards, 4k)

turbolive

I use a capture card at 1080p with a HDMI Switcher that i use between my Xbox and PC to my 4k tv. My question is that if i use an HDMI splitter male to female (one to the tv and one to the capture card) would i be able to use my 4k tv at 4k but still send the second duplicated signal to the capture card and still be able to play my games in 4k when i am not using the capture card. The reason i ask is because i stream, and use the switcher to go between the xbox and pc. But when i am not streaming i would like to just switch an input on the tv with a splitter to be able to play my games in 4k when i am not capturing from the 1080 card. Is this reasonable and will it work?

I believe 1080p if the capture card is in the loop, but it could also be that the capture card is just ignored completely.

what if i ran the splitter, one output to the capt card the other to the 4k tv, would i still get a 4k feed to the tv when not using the capt card?
