Bought Cooler Master MC500M, has front USB 3 Type C - need help finding motherboard

AcroNuz

Hi guys (and girls),

Looking for a Z370 motherboard Intel 1151 that will enable me to connect the front USB-C on the case to a header on the motherboard (not sure if special header needed or adapter or what).

Located in the UK, budget is £150-200.

Other requirements - M.2, overclocking, SLI (nice to have), decent WiFI (nice to have), DDR4 memory.

Thanks

Hi,

That's one of the ones of considered the but type c reference seems to be the back IO, not a header on the motherboard (which I also can't seem to spot on any pictures)

that header next to the 24 pin seems like a 3.1 header to me. but i'm upstairs, so I can't take a look at it in person

IIRC the USB-C cable just connects to the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard, so I think any motherboard will work.

Type C plus are not exclusively Gen2. There are Type C ports that use 3.1 gen 1 (the 19 pin blue pin connector found in most cases)

The MC500 is 3.1, does not specify gen 2 So most likely it is gen 1, which will use the older plug mentioned above. Your Type C port should work

For reference, The motherboard does not have the newest 3.1 Gen 2 header. It's only on the rear I/O
