CPU clamp with 2/3 screws (image included)

Hi everyone

There are 3 places to put the screws in the CPU clamp but I only have 2. It’s a Dell Optiplex 7010 by the way. I was just wondering if this would cause any long-term damage or life-span shortage to any parts even if I have the thermal paste, heatsink etc and the CPU and the pins aren’t able to move or shake.

Thanks

If you absolutely must work with this, one needs to be in the "pointy" side. If anything, this is to make sure the CPU is firmly pressed against the socket and not moving around. However I'd imagine heat sink pressure would fill in what cover plate can't do since Apple in various computers uses an LGA socket without the cover plate.

Thanks for the help! I’ll do that.
