Hello guys, I'm new here and i want to ask for an advise about my next update.

It's not gonna be fully new build, just change motherboard, CPU and GPU (if i can use all the other parts that i have of course)

Now what i have is:

ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0

AMD FX-6300

ATI Radeon HD7790

2 x ADATA 4GB DDR3 1600

+

2x Kingston HyperX FURY 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL10

Kingston SSDNow V300 2.5" 120GB SATA3 SV300S37A/120G - Just for Windows and basic apps

+

WD 2TB My Book Desktop External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - Many HDD

Cooler Master Elite Power Plus 600W (RS600-ACAB-M2)

I wnat to swap the motherboard, CPU and GPU.

For GPU i'm thinking MSI GTX 1080 (Either Aero or Armor, still waiting for confirmation from a friend which one left, cuz he sell one of each)

For CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 or Ryzen 7 1700 (I don't see big difference in terms of Bench results, but the 2600 is a little bit cheaper, so i'm thinking of that one)

Motherboard - that's the part i need help with. I'm thinking of AMD AM4 ATX (I sow that in the post before, but i have no clu about that, soo :D)

Thanks.

AM4 CPUs (Ryzen) are pretty good budget CPUs and don't perform behind Intel by that much, especially with an OC. However, whether you go Intel or AMD for a CPU upgrade, you will need new RAM. New motherboards all use DDR4, the DDR3 you have is outdated and incompatible.

Those have pretty bad thermals compared to other cards inside and outside the msi linup. The 1700 does have 2 more cores, so it will win in some games. Motherboard depends on the budget, a b450 or x470 I would suggest. And some 3000+ mhz ram

also, you are going to probably want the armor edition of the 1080, the aero will most likely max thermals very quickly.

and as @LukeSavenije just stated, you may want to look for OTHER GPUs outside of the two you have to pick from.

OK, I'll check what other options i have for cards, i think that he have some 1070s as well, i need to check what cooling tho.

I guess 1070 MSI Armour is not good option as well?

Do i need to get 3000mhz RAM? If yes i think that this will do the trick for now (at later stage one more) - HyperX Predator, 8GB DDR4, 3000Mhz, CL15

About MB - b450 fits in the budget. Any suggestion on manifacturer or for that price range doesn't really matters?

Asus GTX 1070 Dual

MSI GTX 1070 GamingX (It looks like the armour cooling)

Palit GTX 1070 8GB (Dual or Jet Stream)
