the stuff that comes on the cooler is good enough, dont bother with spending money on thermal compound

Hi there, trying to choose between ARCTIC MX-2 or Arctic Silver 5 for thermal compound for my CPU - 2700x using wraith prism cooler, intending to OC using the wraith prism - which thermal compound would you suggest / prefer?

Thermal compound isn't really that important. I personally used silver 5 for my 8600k, and it keeps it cool very well for a low profile cooler.

just checked mine, it did have the thermal paste applied on it already, just hadn't opened the box yet. I guess for now I'll pass on the thermal compound.

a better cooler does way more than thermal compound will so id only really bother with getting good paste when at the limit of the cooler you can fit or you just like the consistency of a specific paste
