Swapping my A10-7850K to an I5 4570s or I7 4790

bamchi

Is it worth it? I'm swapping out my processor and mobo for an intel proc and mobo.

Depends on the price. The 4570 certainly isn't worth it unless it's like $50 or less. I also wouldn't pay full price for a 4790.

What's your budget?

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Depends on how much you'd be paying for the intel cpus

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Paying less than $50 for the processor and a Biostar H81MG

That's a steal. I'd go for the i7. It's significantly faster in today's games than the i5, which is becoming barely usable unless you only play eSports titles.

1060 6GB is a good match if you want to play at 1080p. If you go 1440 you'll be okay with a 1070 or Vega 56.

My monitor's resolution is 1440x900. 1050ti is good, I guess?

should be, it can even do 1080p at high in most GPU intensive games with atleast 45-50FPS. Would have ample performance for you at that kind of resolution.

What tests should I do to ensure that the processor I am using is working fine? And the MOBO too.

For the CPU, download Intel's diagnostic tool. For the mobo, just plug stuff in, install drivers for everything and see if everything works.
