Approximately when will laptops start to have RTX gpu's?

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it or not to buy a laptop for cyber monday or wait for the new RTX laptops to be released. Sorry if this looks like spam but I need an answer asap for a sale. I'll delete when someone answers.

Thanks!!!

I would grab one now.

The only reason to get RTX is if you literally can't live without raytracing.

The RTX cards are worse in any kind of price/performance ratio. The only one that is worth buying is the 2080ti if you have money to burn. Anything less and you'll get better gaming performance from pascal. And at a lower cost.

Plus, pascal TDP is much lower, and there are lots of laptops available in awesome form factors, and great prices that we will not see RTX versions of for a LONG time if ever

Current Main Setup: Roon -> HQPlayer -> Intel NUC -> Intona 7055-C Isolator -> Holo Audio May KTE DAC-> Holo Serene KTE preamp -> Benchmark AHB2 / Woo WA33
Most used headphones: Hifiman Susvara, Abyss 1266 Phi TC, Sennheiser HD800-S

Thanks for the advice! When do you think they will start rolling out?

Impossible to say

Its completely possible that nvidia will hold off entirely, both because RTX has very large dies and very high TDP compared to pascal, meaning its difficult to put into laptops both because of power and thermal constraints. And also because they have literally no competition right now, so no need to refresh just to compete with themselves.

It could be that for some unknown reason they put a lot of work into optimising the architecture and we see it coming out soonish.

Personally I feel like we won't see RTX laptops either until next gen, or at least not for another year or maybe two. There is very little pushing nvidia to do so especially with the extra r&d cost involved with getting the TDP of those chips down. If its even possible.
