Asus maximus xi hero vs formula vs extreme

I want to buy a new gaming computer with a 2080ti and i9 9900k both are cooled with a custom loop (i might want to upgrade my pc with an extra 2080ti in the future) . I can't decide which motherboard to buy the asus maximus xi hero, formula or extreme? I want to able to heavly overclock my pc (not sub zero overclock but still heavy)

How much you can overclock will depend on the CPU.

those motherboards just have different features and aesthetics which you can read on the specs list.

if you aren't going sub zero, then why Asus?

the problem is, Maximus 11s are joint best by other boards that cost less under ambient cooling. Yet they cost $50-200 more...

Nah, ExOC is for the still not-released Apex

The Apex will be based more towards LN2 xOC, but asus is kinda fugged in that as one of their best members that was helping with design for the ROG line for the higher end boards gave them the finger and jumped ship.

Are you sure the difference between the hero and formula are only aesthetics? Because I have heared the formula and extreme have features that are beneficial for water cooling and system stability. I don't know if this is true.

Out of those boards The Extreme has the better vrm. EVERY board from asus for LGA 1151 z390 is a 4 phase design at the most.
