144Hz 1080p Budget Options

I am currently looking for a new display, since my old one is slowly dying on me. I wanted to finally upgrade to 144hz and stumbled upon the viewsonic xg2401 gettign recommended over and over again. Considering the monitor is several years old by now, I was curious if its still competing as one of the best budget 144hz displays out there or if the technology simply moved past it already. Would you recommend it? Can you recommend any comparable specs around the 200-300 budget range?

What GPU do you have? 

 

If you have something later like a 1060 6gb than stay with the 1080p scene. 

I am only asking because if you're running something like a 1070ti, 1080,1080ti than you should go for the 144Hz, 1440p scene with a budget going into $300.

1440p is probably the way to go. dell has a 144hz 1440p TN panel monitor for 350 rn from bestbuy.

Is the G-Sync one? If so, I believe the deal is over, I purchased one over the weekend :)

damn it is over... i missed out on that one then... well 1080p is what ill need for RTX anyway.

There's also AOC G2460 (with some letters at the back), Asus VG248 (more letters), BenQ XL2411P. Just make sure the model you buy has DisplayPort rather than DVI input. New cards are ditching DVI so you might end up needing an adapter if you get one without DP.

 

If you want to get out from TN hell then there's the VA panel MSI G24C and G27C, Samsung CFG70/CFG73. They are curved and cost more though.
