That is a lot of buying, I'd settle for the 1070 Ti personally since you'd have less trouble upgrading every thing else.

do you think the rtx 2070 is as good as the 1070ti

If you overclock the GTX 1070 Ti to its limit, it will perform like a stock/FE RTX 2070

because i see videos on the rtx 2070 vs the 1070 ti and the rtx 2070 has 10 more fps than the 1070 ti so basically the 1070 ti is as good as the rtx 2070 :)

For the record a 4790(non K) will still bottleneck a 2070 by anywhere from 12-15% at 1080p. Now if OP decides to play at 1440p he will be set.

To be honest you should have got the 1070Ti in the first place, Linus did have a good point about RTX 20 cards in the black friday stream. He said that all of the previews of ray-tracing were using a 2080Ti and even that wasn't impressive in terms of FPS so obviously as you go down to lower tier cards you are just getting a worse experience, an experience that already wasn't great even with a top of the line card.

so the best thing to do is to just buy an 1070ti

If you can aim for a 4790 then I think you'll be fine.

I just have a 1070 but with the OC I have on it, it performs like a 1070Ti at stock frequencies.

But if you would have upgraded to a new gpu which gpu would you buy. Maybe the rtx 2070 will be better in the future
