My GPU and PSU 8 pins don't match, need help

Go to solution Solved by soggytofu,

Eh, Ill think about it

Hello, I recently bought an MSI - Radeon RX 580 8 GB ARMOR MK2 OC GPU (certified refurbished only 140 :D). However, my PSU 8 pin connector is does not fit with it. Are there any adapters that I could buy to connect it? I couldn't find one. My PSU is an OCZ - ModXStream Pro 700 W 80+ Certified Semi-Modular ATX PSU, however, I am missing the red cables from it, since a refurbish. I tried looking up an adapter to change it, but couldn't find one. Trying to keep it cheap, I have amazon prime so if you find something on amazon, thankyou.

Just need help either people telling me that im stupid and there is no such thing, there is a thing and i cant find one, or that just go buy this psu that has it.

You're missing the PCIe power cables. That OCZ unit you have is a decade old. Buy a new PSU.

Well, if you don't buy a new PSU the RX580 you bought is just going to sit in the cardboard box doing bugger all... So I don't really see what there is to think about?

It's Cyber Monday so there should be some good specials on PSUs at the moment. See what specials are available on good quality 450w units.

If you're in the USA, here's some of the units on sale for Cyber Monday at Newegg.com.

Corsair CX450m - $45 ($25 after Mail in rebate)

Corsair CX550           - $48 ($28 after Mail in rebate)

Be Quiet Pure Power 10 CM 500W - $45

Be Quiet Pure Power 10 500W - $39

Corsair TX550m - $70 ($50 after Mail in rebate)

Corsair RM550x - $70 ($50 after Mail in rebate)... Since price is the same, buy this instead of the TX550m

Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 550w - $60 ($50 after Mail in rebate)
