Best used cards to buy now?

I have a 4K TV and a 144 Hz 1440p monitor.  I don't really need all Ultra settings or 144 Hz on an offline game but I would like a substantial improvement in visual quality nonetheless. Currently have a GTX 1060 (3GB) mini size.  Budget is $300-500, but honestly, it depends on the bang for buck.  The more I spend, the more quality I expect.

PC Build: R5-1600.  Scythe Mugen 5.  GTX 1060.  120 GB SSD.  1 TB HDD.  FDD Mini C.  8 GB RAM (3000 MHz).  Be Quiet Pure Wings 2.  Capstone-550.  Deepcool 350 RGB.

Peripherals: Qisan Magicforce (80%) w/ Gateron Blues.  Razer Naga Chroma.  Lenovo 24" 1440p IPS.  PS4 Controller.

Audio: Focusrite (Solo, 2nd), SM57, Triton Fethead, AKG c214, Sennheiser HD598's, ATH-M50x, AKG K240, Novation Launchkey

Wishlist: MP S-87, iPad, Yamaha HS5's, more storage

GTX 1080/1080ti if you hunt long enough you will find some ABSOLUTE KILLER deals.

I'm leaning toward 1080 unless 1070 ti is super cheap.  I'll buy a miner card, I dont care, because if anything miners take better care of their cards than gamers.
