New Ryzen looks good, but the pricing is disappointing compared to the current gen. This should serve as a reminder to people (especially amd fanboys) that big corporations care about profit more than they care about you. Now that they have made a name for themselves they can afford to jack up their prices without losing customers. I wouldn't be surprised if next gen Ryzen is even more expensive if Intel doesn't get their shit together.

Personally, I'm thinking about picking up a 3900X if the prices go down a bit. (Unless newer Ryzen has massively better gaming performance or something)

Guys, don't forget to give Cuda his cookie for using an older gen system.

@PonyBoyZ_ Nah, you gotta get a handful of that 🍑. A back pat just won't do.

I plan on sticking with Threadripper. Will likely move up to either the 3rd gen 24-core or 32-core depending on what happens to the prices.

AMD has definitely crept up to the kinds of prices Intel has been asking for for well over a decade. If their new GPU line up happens to compete with NVIDIA I don't see anything stopping them from charging similar prices.

Sucks but what can you do...
