Another fresh "LAwLz bedtime leak" for you all.

According to my super secret insider sources, OnePlus is thinking of launching a phone with a Snapdragon (maybe the 460?) SoC.

Other specs could include:

  • A screen (maybe a 6.5" 1600x720 90Hz screen?)
  • Punch hole selfie camera.
  • RAM for storing data in. Possibly 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
  • Place for at least one SIM card.
  • One camera for taking pictures, and some other cameras to pad the spec sheet out like depth and macro.
  • An "all day" battery which might mean 5000mAh but actually, it could be anything because I am deliberately keeping this shit vague as hell so nobody can say I was wrong.
  • Connectivity will include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB type-C and GPS.

@TVwazhere Don't worry, I said "include" so I am still correct even if they include more stuff in the connectivity category.

To be a bit more serious though. My "source" for this "leak" is that OnePlus pushed out some source code which references a new device using the Snapdragon 460 SoC. This seems to line up pretty well with Oppo launching their "Oppo A53" phone, which also has a Snapdragon 460.

Since OnePlus base all their devices on Oppo phones (owned by the same company), it is not too much of a stretch to assume that OnePlus is making a new budget device that will be based on the Oppo A53, and as a result have very similar specs.

Also, the A53 does not seem to have NFC.

No I mean, ehm, my insider sources have told me this. I am not just spreading and reposting rumors. Trust me, I totally have insider sources.

Hey would you look at that. Am I an official leaker now? I even got most of the specs right!

Edit: I of course meant to say that my insider informer obviously gave me this info and therefore I am a reliable leaker. I didn't just make a bunch of guesses based on relatively obvious info and pretend to have an insider source to sound more fancy and important.

    Well well well...

OnePlus Nord N10 5G has just been announced. Let's look at how they line up with my "leak".

    • A screen (maybe a 6.5" 1600x720 90Hz screen?)

6.5" 90Hz screen confirmed. The resolution was wrong but let's focus on the things I got right and brush all the things I got wrong under the rug.

    • Punch hole selfie camera.

    This is confirmed.

    • RAM for storing data in. Possibly 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

The RAM is indeed used for storing data in. It turns out it has 6GB but I'd count has as being "mostly correct", right?

Edit: Actually, I totally meant the Nord N100 which was also announced just now when I said "4GB of RAM". The N100 has 4GB of RAM.

    • Place for at least one SIM card.

It does indeed have a SIM card slot. It even has two of them!

    • One camera for taking pictures, and some other cameras to pad the spec sheet out like depth and macro.

This turns out to be very true. The OnePlus Nord N10 5G (that name just rolls of the tongue) has a regular camera, an ultrawide, a depth and a macro camera.

    • An "all day" battery which might mean 5000mAh but actually, it could be anything because I am deliberately keeping this shit vague as hell so nobody can say I was wrong.

The battery is a 4300mAh battery but it probably lasts "all day" so that's 50% correct again, right?

Edit: The N100 has a 500mAh battery so that's totally the device I was referring to.

    • Connectivity will include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB type-C and GPS.

Yes it has WiFi (802.11ac) Bluetooth (5.1), USB type-C and GPS.
