After a lot of screwing around I finally have a working desktop rig again.
Installing the NHD15 was a real pain in the ass. Not sure I’d willingly do that again.

The lack of space there is when installing the fan(s) onto the cooler itself. How sharp the fins are also doesn't help.
The instructions also don't tell you to do some things before installing the cooler and the fans which leads to either a really bad time or removing the cooler and doing the things before then installing the cooler again and installing the fan.

Replacement CPU is here, new CPU cooler is here, and new case fans are here.
The replacement CPU I got after the refund for the 3900X came in since the 3900X was out of stock. It cost me £30 more for the 3900XT but it's available.
New CPU cooler is Noctua NH D15 cos I'm not gonna be using the H100i v2 since it's resulting in bent pins on my CPU and also stupidly bad thermals.
And the new case fans are cos I needed new ones so I got a 2 pack of Corsair ML120.

@FloRolf Idk. the CPU gets stuck to the AIO and then taking the AIO out rips the CPU out of the socket.

@FloRolf idk to be honest, It's happening a whole hell of a lot with me lately so I don't know if it's me causing it, if the motherboard is causing it, or if something else is causing it. I mean the AIO cooler was broken anyways so replacing it is not the end of the world.

@ARikozuM wdym? until it turns into the thing it swore to destroy?
I mean they're keeping it as is and probably will for as long as possible.

Nvidia is saying RTX 3060 is 2x faster than GTX 1060 in rasterisation.
12GB GDDR6 for $329.
Essentially youre getting 2070 performance for 2060 price
. What a joke. Performance per dollar is barely an improvement over 2060.

@PCGuy_5960 Okay but how do you square 3060 being 2x faster than 1060 (e.g. 1080 or 1080Ti performance) and being 1.3x faster than PS5's basically RTX 2080 performance?

In some crazy ray-tracing scenario, it wouldn't be impossible. Nvidia's RT is quite a bit better than AMD's and Nvidia seems to think that everyone plays with RT on.

Seems that Qt decided to follow through on their threat to punish open source users in favor of paying customers.
LTS (Long Term Support) releases for Qt are now only available commercially meaning Qt 5 at this point is essentially commercial only if you want to use a version without security vulnerabilities.
I do hope KDE and others do fork the project and split it off from the Qt source cos this is ridiculous.
Yes, Qt 6 does exist now but it is severely lacking in the features available and will continue to be behind Qt 5 until Qt 6.2 is released which itself will also be an LTS release.
Edit: And just to add, I know Qt has to make money but surely there are better ways than this. They've already made all new projects dual licensed under GPLv3 and Commercial license as opposed to dual licensing LGPL and Commercial license. And something tells me they won't stop and they'll eventually just try to kill off the open source version entirely if they can.
