Speedtest shows decent speeds, but downloads are slow

Dumpst3rF1r4 posted a topic in Troubleshooting

When I do a speedtest, it shows around 4-5 Mbps download and 7-8 Mbps upload but when I am downloading a game from steam it is about 700 kbps download. I am using a WiFi to lan adapter (similar picture attached) because my router is downstairs and I have no way of plugging my computer directly into the router. How could this issue be resolved?
