yeah honestly it's the first game where the 1080ti is lacking...red dead 2 runs quite well with the hardware unboxed settings you,re probably already using them? i hope you get your 3080 soon...before the 3080ti comes out 😛

But can you imagine...those poor bastard who sold their 2080ti for 500US in the first few days of this...maybe some of them still don,t even have a card and they are super expensive too... OMG, at least you still have your card to play with and everything.

im gonna still try to hold on longer, my 1080ti still does not need replacement, cause honestly the game still run and looks beautiful...i would like my GPU upgrade to come along a new VR headset upgrade but this too i feel should wait a bit longer for more effectiveness in my upgrade...like a big bang wow you know. A 3090 and a Steam Index VR headset would do that but it's too expensive for now...

Yeah, from the benchmarks I've seen the performance with a 1080Ti is quite poor to be honest... Actually inferior even to an RX 5700XT which it usually beats, despite CP2077 being an Nvidia title. I feel like Nvidia stopped optimizing for the 1000-series already.
But to play decent 1440p you really need at least a 3070/2080Ti, or better preferably. So the 3080 I ordered should work splendidly with DLSS and some RT effects enabled at 1440p Ultra Still, I "ordered" it, but there's no delivery in sight...

All that, I'm still more interested in AC: Valhalla and CoD: Cold War, and recently started playing Red Dead Online, which is also a fun game to play with friends

Time to finally retire my glorious 1080Ti, this buddy has played a lot of games with me! Shame that its younger sibling can't come soon enough.

Honestly I don't know why would it be a plus, but still funny they allowed such extensive character customization

Along with The Witcher 3, CP2077 is the only good thing that came out of my country for at least the past decade lol 😅

Good that some AIBs managed to catch it before actually selling those cards, as even reviewers got the updated version.

MSI seems to be correcting the errors as well, however the model that HW Unboxed got for review was the older one

i think the image is a 3d render of the card, it's not a real product (IMO) but i do think you're right ASUS caught it early and fixed it and so did MSI:

Well that plastic backplate that they are trying to pass for a super alloy or something....no improvement in power delivery system...I was expecting top of the line componentry and it's just average.

@i_build_nanosuits The RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio is great as well, it runs hotter than the Asus but it's quieter - when both are normalized for noise they're within margin of error from each other - they just have different fan profiles I guess

I also looked at the Trio because it was available here - but it was around 150 USD more expensive so not exactly great value

@germgoatz I tried ordering a Founders Edition card from Nvidia first - they were "unavailable" and then went immediately out-of-stock.

I bought this one at the largest PC parts retailer in Poland, right before it went out of stock as well - the only other models available right now are the highest-end models that are $250 more expensive.

i_build_nanosuits reacted to Morgan MLGman in I'm thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 7 3700X paired with a X370 ASUS Crosshair VI
@LukeSavenije  Just an FYI - Turns out the Extreme and the Hero don't have the same VRM. It looks the same because the arrangement is still 8+4 phase, but the power stages are 60A IR power stages, and the Hero has 40A dual NFETs so it's a bit improved (not that it really matters, but a good to know thing)

@i_build_nanosuits I haven't really been interested in VR that much, honestly I lack the time to play normal games with friends, let alone VR ones so at this point it'd be a waste I know it's fun but I don't play many singleplayer titles anymore...

@i_build_nanosuits I think some of those issues may also be at least partially improved by bios and software updates in the near future as well, I mean it kinda is a new approach to CPU design, they also tested with a stock cooler (they couldn't have done the same with the i9) and the new boost technology behaves sort of like a GPU boost which is largely based on temperature

If I won't be satisfied with Zen 2 performance I'll just go back to Intel

i placed an order for these today...i need them for VR gaming, i hope they will perform as well as the reviews seem to indicate...
    https://www.amazon.com/TRANYA-Bluetooth-Wireless-Headphones-Earphones/dp/B07KW1ZPVM

They feature a longer battery life of 6 to 8 hrs and they have volume up and down control on the buds...which is a must have for PC gaming.
I don't expect them to perform better than the sennheiser urbanite XL that i use for sitting VR and gaming, but i use some 30$ earbuds at the office and they sound pretty good and i think these are a bit better than that...so...yeah

i_build_nanosuits got a reaction from TheSLSAMG in My Rift S review after using it for about 6 hours tonight... The screen is MUCH clean
    @TheSLSAMG
Well as far as IPD is concerned i measure at 58mm and i'm fine with the rift S, no problem getting it in focus. No eye strain or anything...it's all fine, the sweetspot is very large so it's fine.
BUT, from what i've read IPD of 70mm and up have more issues then lower IPD person.

Inside out tracking, yes it could be better but it's still very useable overall...that said i can now only imagine how bad it can be with WMR headset and only 2 of these cheap cameras...Onward devs have said they are working on an update that will help resolve the issue when aiming down sight...we'll see, maybe oculus can also improve things in software.

That said it's cool that the setup now only use 1 USB port where previously it was using 4 USB 3.0 (ouch) so i had to constantly unplug stuff to do room scale VR (having to unplug my logitech wheel and gamepad controler for example to plug in the other sensors, it gets old quick)

I also like the new touch controler better, the plastic they used is of better quality.

Also, the reason i love oculus is the software, most games in steam when you right click have the option to ''Launch in Oculus VR mode'' and when you do they ALL run better...sometimes much much better.
