  1. I know that SSDs use very little power,like 5-6 watts,so i think any SATA extension cable no matter how bad will work right?

I had a e6500 dual core with 2 gb ddr2 and ofc no sata 3 on my motherboard,but got a a400 kingston ssd and boot speed went from minutes to seconds.SSD offer a great improvement in speed because of the transfers that happen in actual usage,small-medium file transfers,happen much faster.It doesnt matter if you have sata 3 or 2,insofar as actual improvement its definetely worth it,even though its not used to its full potential,its still very good.Now i have a much better computer,still have a400 ssd though.
