Do memory channels double with Dual CPU?
Jonnyswboy replied to Jonnyswboy's topic in Servers and NAS
By this logic it would be 4 channels per CPU, no? So I would need 8 DIMMS? -
I ordered a Supermicro server with 2x E5-2680 V4s (14c/28t) on an X10DRU-i+. Would it be 8 channels because of dual CPU or would I only need 4 DIMMS to fully utilize the chips? Thanks.

MC Server will not use more than 9.6GB RAM
Jonnyswboy replied to Jonnyswboy's topic in Troubleshooting
Contrary to what I've read, setting -Xms to 4GB resolved the problem. -
Hello. I am running a server with about 200 mods and task manager shows 10GB even though I set the minimum and maximum to 24GB. It will stay at this utilization no matter what. Is this a limitation of Java or something?

I have a 5900x and 3070. My memory is kit is: G.Skill RipJaws V 3600 CL16-19-19-39 1.35V. For some reason CPU-Z reports as follows no matter what I do and has the wrong latency. What I've tried: Selecting the only XMP profile available Manually setting CAS latency Switching from A1/B1 to A2/B2 slots Updating BIOS Manually setting voltage to 1.35v

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion. It's at the top of my list now.

Want to keep it under $120. Was looking at the Logitech Z337 but it's obviously not the best choice; the sub being only 23w RMS. My knowledge ends at car audio so I could use some recommendations.

Hi, I am looking at these TVs for my new place. I don't plan on doing any serious gaming, mostly movies. Samsung 55" UHD UN55NU6900 (2018) for $260. LG 55" UHD 55UM6950DUB (2019) for $350. LG 65" UHD 65UM6900PUA (2019) for $480. Are there any significant differences in color accuracy between these? I will be sitting about 11ft from the screen and was wondering if the extra 10" would be worth the extra money. If there isn't much of a difference between all three I would prefer to spend the least amount of money. Thanks!

Hello. I'm currently speccing out a CPU and Mobo upgrade for my sister who is using a horrible old AMD APU and a 970. She mainly does photo editing (Photoshop) but uses other artist tools and does some gaming. I am trying to decide between the R5 2600(X) and R7 2700(X). We're trying to stay as close to $250 as possible and I am wondering if the extra cores are worth the $30. My gut says yes, but she only photo edits and does light gaming. I am avoiding X570 because motherboard takes it up to $320 with the R5 3600 unless we can guarantee update the BIOS witho

Hello, My roommate just got access to 13 Optiplex machines with i7-3770's. Is there anything cool that could be done with all these machines before selling them?

9700k strange frequencies?
Jonnyswboy replied to cassiopeia1's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Put a load on it. -
Need more money mate. You can rig something playable together for like $300-400 if you know where to look.
-
You can use controllers on PC. Though it is a pain in the ass.
-
Use something non conductive to wash it off. Let it dry completely.

Jonnyswboy replied to Jonnyswboy's topic in Servers and NAS
This is a good idea.
