  1. According to the MSI website, the b450 board I have has 1 x PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot + 1 x PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot. I heard that this can cause the bandwith to be split in half if I have 2 GPUs in my system, or is that a myth?
  2. Hi there, I just bought 2 RTX 3070's. I would like to mine with them both on a windows 10 PC using Nicehash Quickminer, and stop mining when I go to play video games. Is this possible using Nicehash Quickminer, and will having 2 cards on my current system limit my PCIe lane speed? In addition, would I need to change any bios settings? Current system: Ryzen 7 5800x 2 RTX 3070 MSI b450 Tomahawk Max 16GB 3200mhz Ram 1000W PSU Corsair 4000D airflow
  3. was able to manually get it to 3000mhz, thank you for the advice
  4. Just did a CMOS Reset, still nothing. I'm nearly certain the motherboard is just DOA
  5. fair enough, it just feels like I took one step forward and one step backwards by upgrading my CPU but then not using XMP.
  6. Yes everything works fine with XMP on and off, my main issue simply is that XMP does not overclock the RAM anymore, and I'm worried that if I do it manually, I may just boot cycle forever
  7. Hi all, I recently swapped in a Ryzen 5800x for a Ryzen 3600x on a b450 Tomahawk Max. With the 3600x, I was able to enable XMP for my ddr4 3200mhz RAM. When I put the 5800x in, I was also able to enable XMP for my dd4r 3200mhz RAM. Then, I downgraded from an RTX 3080 to an RTX 3070, and before doing so, wiped my old GPU drivers and reset everything in my bios to default. Since doing so, I've been able to restore everything back to how it was, except for XMP. When I try to enable XMP in the bios (profiles 1 and 2), the system restarts, then quickly boot cycles ov
  8. Hi all, I tried replacing a lot of things, one by one, including the CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD. After restoring the PC to its original configuration, it still does not even boot into the bios. I think the motherboard is dead :(. I've tried all the parts in a separate PC and they work fine so I know they're not the issue.
  9. Hi everyone, I recently purchase an Alienware Aurora r10 with a Ryzen 7 5800X in it. Upon receiving the PC, I immediately switched out the CPU for my Ryzen 5 3600X, without booting up the PC first (oops). I put the 5800X in my pc and everything works, but upon giving the Alienware PC to my little brother with my old 3600X (which I know works), the PC won't boot. The CPU fan spins up and continues to spin at max speed the whole time, and the GPU fan spins upon turning on the power, but turns off after 5 seconds. I can't pinpoint the issue because I never
  10. Hi Everyone, I am upgrading from a Ryzen 3600x to a Ryzen 5800x on my MSI b450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. I just updated to the latest bios that supports Ryzen 5000 series. Is there anything more I need to/should do before I insert the new CPU? Do I have to reinstall windows or any drivers? Thank you for your help
  11. I found another example where the user has the following ryzen 3600 + 1660 super, Low settings (competitive) https://youtu.be/f2zlgCcJ1Nw?t=10 As we see in the above, his CPU and GPU are worse than mine yet he gets 300 fps at the same settings
  12. I don't have anything overclocked, but that shouldnt explain why I'm in the 10th percentile for my GPU compared to other RTX 3070's. I should be somewhere around the 50th percentile right? Also my windows 10 is up to date, but I first installed it when I built my computer like 6 months ago Edition Windows 10 Home Version 20H2 Installed on ‎8/‎1/‎2020 OS build 19042.746 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0
  13. Here I've recorded some gameplay with everything being monitored. Nothing else is running besides Fortnite, Discord, and OBS. RTX 3070 Ryzen 3700X Fortnite Benchmark 1080p Competitive settings - YouTube
  14. Yes, I do have a 240Hz monitor. I used to play Overwatch at a higher level. Anyways, I dont think it's a cpu limit, because I've seen people on youtube that have worse components have much higher FPS than me. Here are examples: ryzen 3700x + 1650 super, Low settings https://youtu.be/1-OGLwXW8jo?t=184 As we see in the above, his GPU is much worse than mine yet he gets the same framerates. 3060 ti, Low settings https://youtu.be/hRq9g64fRnU?t=321 As we see in the above, his GPU is slightly worse than mine yet he gets 160 more fps.
