  1. Honestly I have been playing today without any issues I turn the brightness down to 80 I am wondering if running it at max brightness was causing a display issue. If it ran like this for its life cycle I would be perfectly happy. It still cant hit 240 hz. However since I cant even hit those numbers at this resolution it would be a moot point anyway. May use it another week to see how I feel.
  2. Yeah that is the model I was going to buy but the 55 inch is on sale for 1300 right now
  3. After having experienced an ultrawide I would like to keep using one So I have done some research and it is between these two options. https://www.amazon.com/LG-38GL950G-B-Ultragear-Monitor-Refresh/dp/B07ZS1DZM1/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=hardwunbox-20&linkId=3b9101d75b336e0a2c3867bf10abad6c&language=en_US https://www.amazon.com/LG-OLED55CXPUA-Alexa-Built-Ultra/dp/B0829RYP8V/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=lg+oled&qid=1604183201&s=electronics&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyM1IzN081S1BYU1dOJmVuY
  4. There's a major technical issue with it that I have been putting up with. if it powers down and cools off overnight, when I go to turn it back on It looks broke and has a bunch of scan line through the image. after 30 minutes or so and it heats up the image becomes fine, I am guessing it is a soldering issue of some sort. I would like a bit more of a premium display, the AOC AGON monitor was nice for the most part, but you need to run it on sRGB mode or everything has a huge red tint to it. If you run it on sRGB mode the color is fantastic, but it locks a lot of the display features for some r
  5. Hey all, After snagging a 3080 from Nvidia, I thought I would treat myself to a display upgrade. I was running a 32 inch 16:9 AOC AGON 1440p monitor recommended by hardware unboxed. Overall it was a great monitor , but I felt that the 3080 deserves something a little more premium. Against my better judgment I went with the Odyssey G9 and for a day it worked like a dream. I wont list the few problems that cropped up but it is safe to say I am not taking a chance in keeping it and would like something else in its stead. Getting to the point, I cant decide if I want to go
  6. DDU? I am not familiar with the term sorry. When I installed the 3080 I just used Geforce to update to the latest drivers should I have gone to device manager and just uninstalled the GPU drivers and then reinstalled them?
  7. Hey Zando and thermal, I just had the dumb luck of finding an 3080 in stock on Nvidias website while the bots were ravaging EVGAs website when the FTW3 dropped. I did not upgrade both at the same time, and had the 3080 for about a month before. RDR2 runs about 60-65 FPS at ultra with some dips into the 50s with very minimal testing. Right now RDR2 is being unruly and crashing whenever I try to change the settings with out using GeForce experience. As for WD: Legion I haven't fiddled with it too much but it seems using DLSS with ultra performance mode on makes the game run at 70-75
  8. Right now I'm playing red Dead redemption 2 and watch dogs legion. I'll try lowering the AA on it and see if that has a drastic effect or not. I'll make some slight nerfs to see if I can get it somewhere in the 80 to 90 range. I love the monitor I'm just wondering now if it would have been better to go with a 4K LG TV for the same price. An example being I can still hit 200 frames a second in COD. So even though I've only had it a day I don't have super thorough testing samples. I was just surprised that since I upgraded from a RTX 2080 that I'm barely seeing a performance gain. I'll fiddle ar
  9. Hey everyone, I recently as of yesterday received a Odyssey g9 ultrawide. I'm lucky enough not to have many issues with it, but I was surprised to find that when running the newest games my FPS has dropped from anywhere in the lower to mid 100s to not even consistently running at 60 FPS. This is odd because I have extremely powerful PC and this isn't even 4K resolution. I'm wondering if it's the settings I have enabled or not. I've been running Ray tracing with dlss and that seems to help somewhat. The weirder thing is that I seem to not gain much performance at all when turning of
