Been around since the 486 SX / DX days. Then the day came when my best friend's family got a Pentium 90Mhz and I was hooked. But wasn't until a few years later that I convinced my mom that we needed one for the house so I could do "school work". That's when I cut my teeth on tinkering with PCs... that Pentium 233Mhz (w/ MMX) was my LAN box lol. The 10 base T NIC was my first hardware installed ever and I knew then that was what I wanted to do for a living. Shortly after that, I started hosting LAN parties at my moms house with a nest of coax cable, BNC connectors and terminators. You kids now a days and your switches / routers have it easy lol.
Outside of computers, I enjoy lifting heavy things up and putting them down. My holy trinity is Bench, Squat and Deadlift lol. I also have a passion for collecting MTG that started in the 90s, but do to peer pressure, I ended up selling my collection for nefarious things when I was still in high school (boy I am kicking my self in the rear on that one now). Started collecting again a few years ago, shortly after I met my wife.
She's always been super supportive of my hobbies and is an avid gamer to boot. She was a console gamer when we met, but that has since changed (see the below picture of her setup).
Professionally I have worked in a few tech fields. From 3rd party call center phone jockey taking calls for Microsoft's newest operating system (Windows XP) to working at Canada's favorite home grown smart phone maker RIM (later known as BlackBerry). I also did my time working in tech shops, from Staples to local small time Newegg wannabes like Robotnik and PC medic. Currently I work in the IT Operations department in one of the provinces regulated Utilities.
