  1. Sounds great! Anyone knows how to pull it off?
  2. Hey everyone. I'm currently using a decade-old Radeon HD 6950 as I'm waiting for the new 3070 (or similar) to be actually available to buy. Parts list: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor $234.99 @ B&H CPU Cooler Scythe Mugen 5 TUF Gaming Alliance 51.17 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX A
  3. Shall we celebrate a bit? It seems we got a new breakthrough! Full Article: https://www.networkworld.com/article/3587388/foldinghome-exascale-supercomputer-finds-potential-targets-for-covid-19-cure.html And said study: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.27.175430v3 Let's pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.
  4. Happened to me today as well on my 3600x but went back to normal after a few hours.
  5. Hope I can break into the top 300 before it ends! =D (damn these 3070 delays)
  6. Now I have to see it too! hahaha
  7. Almost on last place as I'm running it solely on my CPU, but at least will surely meet the event quota.
  8. I have a question: I had a problem with my PSU and had to send it over for repairs. I am signed up for this event but I lost many days of activity - got back to folding yesterday. Can I still get a badge? I started again yesterday and will surely hit the other requirements by the end of the month.
  9. Hey everyone! Just wanted to get back here and thank everyone for your help and also tell you how it all ended. I contacted Corsair's support on Brazil, and they asked me to return it through mail or in person. Their support team responses were all very canned and nobody told me why it happened, or what happened, nothing. They only said to send it to them. And now, a few weeks later, I get a package on the mail. I open it up... and it's a brand new RM750x. Yep, they got me a more and expensive powerful PSU for the trouble! Their sup
  10. My build is super similar to yours! I believe RTX 3080 would be overkill; I am planning on getting the 3070. To find your ideal PSU wattage: 1. input your parts on PCPartPicker, sans the GPU 2. check on Nvidia's website for power requirements of each GPU 3. Sum it up! AFAIK a good 550W PSU should be enough for the 3070 paired with a Ryzen 5 3600. But I recommend you do the math.
  11. Jewelers have tools that help find ring size. If you take any kind of measurement they should be able to help. Circunference is the easiest. A few ways to do that: - Ask the person's relatives for a ring they own and take it to the jeweler - If you happen to sleep together, use a ribbon around their finger to measure its circunference while the person is asleep. - Get a toy that has a plastic ring, put it on any finger that fits on your hand, and say jokingly "hey, look how pretty this is! wanna try it?" or something like that. See if it fits or nearly fits on any f
  12. This BEAUTIFUL MSX2 from japan. You might have seen it in one of these MGS games.
  13. Hi, I got here to find help about a problem in my PSU, and might just stick around! Have been building PCs since I was a kid and have just built a new one! My avatar is my dog.
  14. Not too worried about that as this PSU runs most of the time with its fan turned off - it started making fan noise just because I was running F@H for the last few days. This PSU usually runs very cool. Turning off F@H should keep it cool for now. It does but I also use this PC to render videos for my YT channel! I'll turn the AC on while rendering to minimize damage. Not generating a ton of heat since I'm only folding with my CPU - my GPU is temporary and too old for that. Now... I might be wildly wrong. But my guess is that since it has this copper part inside it, it might be
  15. Just did that Let's see how long they take to answer me. Unfortunately Brazil's support is done through a third party so it might take a while.
  16. Funny how one of the piece's sides has a very weak adhesive coating on it. It should be able to withstand the heat! Come on, Corsair.
  17. I DID and this thing is less than 1 month old so I want a new one. hehe

  19. HotBit, a Brazilian MSX build from circa 1986. More about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotbit
  20. I live in Brazil so customer laws may differ. Better not to risk it. I'll stop F@H for a few days and run it light for now.
  21. Yeah this is surely it! The smaller one. I totally feel confortable opening it up but not confortable with voiding a 10-year warranty on a 3-week old PSU! Thank you for letting me know this is not crucial, I'll keep using it until I get a reply from Corsair.
  22. PSU fan started to make a loud noise. Turned it off, removed my PSU and this plastic and copper piece was loose behind the fan. It runs just fine without it but now I'm afraid of damaging my PSU. What is this little plastic piece for and can I run my PC safely while Corsair handles my support ticket without it in place?
