  1. Bought 5 used Aerohive AP320 access points off Ebay for $30 the other day. Got them today and set two of the up in my house. There are so many Wifi options that I didn't even know I wanted. Tempted to make a guest SSID with a portal just because I can lol. I love using commercial equipment for home use.
  2. Your graphics card is a bit weak in comparison to your processor. I'd possibly lower the processor and get a better GPU.
  3. I've heard really good things about this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hakko-FX888D-23BY-Digital-Soldering-Station-110-120-Volts-ESD-Safe-65W-Iron-/181493834002?hash=item2a41e02112:g:mHsAAMXQ74JTQWOj https://www.amazon.com/Hakko-Digital-FX888D-Soldering-Station/dp/B00AWUFVY8
  4. Have you run the VR Ready Tester on Steam yet to make sure that your computer can handle VR? If it can, I would say go with the Vive.
  5. Hey guys, I'm looking for a TV / Monitor around 27". I want to use it primarily as a monitor for my Laptop, but having a cable input would be nice and RCA (for PS2/SNES) is required. I liked some of the ultra widescreen monitors, but they don't have coax or RCA inputs. I'd probably be willing to spend around $250. Smaller bezels would be nice, and I'd spend more if it looked nicer. Any ideas? Thanks!
  6. Right now I have a Sapphire Radeon 6870 which I use to play games on my three monitors. It's getting old, and it would be great to have something new to use for college next month!
  7. So today my S7 Edge started having a vertical line of dead pixels. It's intermittent and can be fixed temporarily by pushing in on the top of the display. I contacted Verizon and they told me they would replace it under warranty but I would get a reconditioned phone. I told them no.... I don't want a reconditioned phone... You don't replace a warranty by giving something used. Time to contact Samsung instead.

i think going direct to manufacturer is better than going through carriers. at least with the manufacturer they probably will notice its got a defect from factory and replace it with a brand new one.

On the phone with Samsung now. They want me to send it in and they are going to repair it. That means I'll be without a phone for a week or so.... I don't know which path to go with.

hmm. idk a week doesn't seem much. are repairs gonna be free? (i mean probably so since its under warranty) but i honestly could go a week without a phone. i mean i've gone 3 years without a decent smartphone.

  8. I would just get a laptop. I have considered these two options before, and getting a laptop with a 13" or so screen is enough to be productive. It's hard to be productive on a tablet.
  9. Bought a MacBook Pro a couple days ago because I need to use XCode. Havn't used my Windows Desktop machine since I bought the MacBook. Uh oh.... I kinda like OSX. It's so much nicer than Windows on a laptop. The gestures on the trackpad are so nice.

Gestures for the OS or for the browser only?

      >never used a macbook

For the OS, all using the trackpad.

  10. I have an old NStor CR8L external SCSI raid enclosure. It works perfectly and powers up. Should I throw it away?
  11. Not worth it for a $8 fan. Rather just send it someone and call it a day.
  12. I accidentally bought this fan on eBay, I needed a 120mm one, and it's now too late to cancel the order. I don't need it so I'm giving it to someone. I'll message the first person to reply to this thread. Send me back your address and I'll have it shipped directly to you.
  13. I use Google now for the simplest things on my S5. When it recognizes my voice, it works flawlessly. Mostly I use it for checking the weather, reminding me based on time or location, or just asking it a question when I'm in the middle of a conversation and a question comes up.
