Will an NH-D9L be able to cool a 105W CPU like the R9 3900X?
MaterFerguson replied to ProPane865's topic in Cooling
You might take a look at this video he compares the NH-U9s to the NH-D9L (Ultimate NCASE M1 Cooling Setup?) The U9S does around 15 better. -
Upgrading CPU and/or memory?
MaterFerguson replied to Thom_0203's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
The Ryzen 3600 has a very good price to performance ratio, right now it is $158.99 on Amazon. as far as gaming goes it is nearly the equal to the 3700x and with a little overclocking is practically the same as the 3600x. -

I think the NH-U9S has a little more cooling capacity if it will fit in your system, especially if you can add a second fan it is almost as effective as the NH-u12s. however the NH-D9L is good as well probably within 2 or 3 degree of the NH-U9S. A second fan on the NH-D9L will help a little as well. -
