Thank you and good question @tikker For me at home it is all direct stream - so I do not have much transcoding to do or very rarely, the occasional sound file my AMP (is old) and transcode sound a little bit when watching bigger 4k media. I use a SHIELD as the Plex Player. The transcoding is more for my family which are remote - and they all have different set-ups.   3. Hello to all, I am thinking to start upgrading my oldish desktop and wanted some advice how to go about it and if needed. Thanks for the reply, however would avoid hosing it down, currently need it haha Reinstalling win10 clean and also the intel drivers have not fixed my problem thus far - both normally and is safe mode... I am now attempting to role back on intel drivers one by one and see how this pans out as never tried this....

  9. Thank you Quick question is there a reason for the 1600mhz speed - is this the max i can get for my setup? when i did part checker for my MB for 80Euros ish says i can get quicker - so just askign if you had a reason to choose 1600mhz speed?

I currently have 2x4gb with the following sticks: Type DDR3 Size 4096 MBytes Manufacturer Crucial Technology Max Bandwidth PC3-12800 (800 MHz) Part Number CT51264BA160B.C16F I am also trying to upgrade at value - with the current situation need to be careful with money and hence the advice. I was able to find this - and I have just tried it Resilio (not adding link as not sure if i am allowed) Seems to be ideal for me and so easy to set up.... and it is free for my needs and the folder is shared directly, safely with a small program to install.... From research this was called BittorrentSync in the past.

I decided to forget SMB share - too risky and I remember when i set up remote access to my computer via the default port it was being used soooo much and was able to change thi sport to a different one and since then it gets hit practically never.. I am assuming the following right now: - I will only have one folder shared on the system that I have allowed locally - the log in details used is for the whole PC - it is not individual to the specific folder? - I have DYNDNS address - would \\www.dyndns.com\<SHARENAME> work - and this would be added in the "NETWORK" option on your file explorer I guess for the user wnating to connect? - Also, maybe there is a way to add in this shared folder - the name
