Taco Annihilator reacted to Emily123 in Is it safe to disable hibernation and delete Hiberfil.sys?
There is a way to disable hibernation without losing Fast Startup. You can set the hibernation file type to Reduced, this should set the default size of it to 20% of physical memory.

    powercfg /h /type reduced
If the hibernation file is already set to a custom size larger than 40% of physical memory you need to run this first

    powercfg /h /size 0
Also if Hibernation is still required but you don't want the file to be as large you can set the size of the Full hibernation file to as low as 40% of total physical memory using the above command and specifying your desired size.

Taco Annihilator reacted to GoodBytes in Is it safe to disable hibernation and delete Hiberfil.sys?
Yes, it is safe. To remove it, you'll need to disable hibernation, and restart your system. This is done via command line:
    powercfg /h off
To turn it back on, if you change your mind (restart your system after):
    powercfg /h on
Keep in mind that disabling hibernation will also disable Fast Startup feature.
So, Windows will start slower than normal from Shutdown state.

Yup. I've done this many times. The file will delete automatically when you disable hibernation.

Love the title to the video.
    "XMP vs Overclock"

99% of the time the XMP profile is the integrated memory controller's overclock lol.

Taco Annihilator reacted to Dedayog in Can I run my old, slower RAM with my new, faster RAM?
You can, but I wouldn't.  It will only slow down your new RAM and do you ever go over 32GB of usage?

Taco Annihilator reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Can I run my old, slower RAM with my new, faster RAM?
You can, but the faster sticks will adjust to match the slower RAM, so the speed benefit will be gone. Only benefit would be if you actually use more than 32GB. If you don't, you'll see no benefit from running the slower stuff as well.

I think with only 5 posts under your rope belt, you'd be wrong in stating this is a shitpost by myself.
What in the hell does your story of buying a used, no box, bent pin cpu have to do with the subject?

THE PRICES HAVEN'T DROPPED. Are you having a hard time reading the original post? Maybe you should do that and brush up on your comprehending.

The price has now gone up a whopping $53 from where it sat at $170 for many many weeks.
First it was Amazon raising it $30 bucks and a $199 total.
Newegg hadn't budged. They were still selling it at $170.

    NOW? $223.00

Thats right, the price has rocketed since my first post on this.

    Thats not a shitpost / satire @Taco Annihilator 🤬

Sifting through the charred and toxic remnants of AMD effortlessly obliterating Intel in terms of value and performance per dollar, I'm a little shocked what I'm seeing. What in the **** are AMD doing?😖

I haven't been keeping a close eye on most of Ryzen's prices in CPU SKU's, but I have for one.
The R5 3600. This CPU started around the $200 mark long ago, then slowly made its way down.

The middle of March, you could snag the 3600 for a mere $165 https://www.pcgamer.com/amds-ryzen-5-3600-is-at-its-lowest-price-ever-right-now/
Amazon, all the while, had the cpu priced at $170-$175.

    NOW?

What is the 3600 selling for now? I sure pray to baby bit rate Jesus they aren't looking at profits and saying, "I think we can raise the bottom line" 🤬
The MF'r is now $200!! Right back to square one. https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07STGGQ18

Is this because of the B550's coming out? This isn't a Corona Crisis, that wave of unfortunate opportunity to sky rocket has passed, no?

I don't think some of you have realized that this is a satire/shitpost, I mean LOOK AT THE TITLE.

That said, I got my 3600 for $127 because the "open box" I was gonna buy had bent pins upon inspection. I didn't ask for the discount, the manager was super cool. No complaints here. Also I think they dropped the prices in wake of the new Intel CPUs so they could put the hurt on them. From a business standpoint, that's a clean hit.

That's about 433Mhz increase in effective clock frequency. That would drop latency a considerable amount. Worthy enough to see the performance gains.

Spending money is up to you though. Could you live and game without faster memory?? Well yea sure.

Not night and day, but it's a fairly noticeable boost in performance.
