bmx6454 got a reaction from Mer_C in PC Just Crash Without Any Error And Reboots itself When GPU is Under Load.
when you say it crashes with no error, do you mean in eventveiwer? if not, check in the logs around the time of the crashes for "warning" or "critical" logs. do you have access to another psu to test with?

bmx6454 got a reaction from Adrian12 in Feedback for my first PC build
no, 3600 will work fine with it. the cooler i agree is overkill, but if you want to go with the h100i, it can be purchased for a lot cheaper than 169.99.

Why do you need 4266MHZ RAM? That is completely overkill, no matter what CPU.

could probably find a case that is 20-30 $ cheaper, going to be a bit rough without an ssd imo though.

bmx6454 reacted to Zodiark1593 in My Thrift Store Find.
At the local thrift store, I found a Mamiya/Sekor Super Deluxe rangefinder camera. Being from the mid-late 60’s, all controls are manual and mechanical. Definitely pretty dirty, and some components are squeaky, but no dents to suggest a bad drop, and all the controls and shutter appear to function.
The dirt on the lens also appears to be mostly surface level. The 48mm lens is good for F 2.0 as well, so it’s actually fairly fast for something so early.
I was able to get it for $6.00. 😇

bmx6454 got a reaction from Airbrn7 in First Pc build with 1500 dollar budget
a few things i would change, first i would recommend a 5000 amd instead, 5600x is about 70$ more, but is current gen, and a lot better. i would switch out the ram as well for something 3600, can find that speed even cheaper than the set listed if you go without rgb. an ssd is a must, so i would definitely work one into the list. an easy way to save money would be to buy a win10 key off ebay, or another trustworthy site, about 100$ cheaper. the psu is the wrong size, and very pricey, plenty of models that are very good, and the right size, for way cheaper. mobo is good, but there are cheaper ones that will do just as well for you. i can make a suggested list if you want.
welcome to the forums

bmx6454 got a reaction from Max L in Help Please First time ever building a pc
the card size should be okay for most cases, but a case with the number of usb ports you require is a tough find at 90$ or less. the only case i can think of at the moment that has the ports your looking for is the fractal design define r6, but that case is over your budget. might be easier to find a decent case for a good price, and use a usb hub?

bmx6454 reacted to Mark Kaine in Circuit Breaker Frequently Tripping After Upgrading Ryzen 3600 to 5600x
Err, these two PSUs seem fairly similar to me, did you actually check that the new EVGA has a good 'inrush current protection' for example? Not that it makes it worse... iirc the RM has pretty average inrush current protection, not bad, just average...
And yeah I know, I know that alone shouldn't make a huge difference, I'm just wondering why that model, seems more like a side grade.
Otherwise this is definitely mysterious, did you change anything else, bios update, power plans...?
I mean that cpu *will* use more power than your previous one
, so it might just be it takes it over the edge since apparently your circuit already had issues, that could definitely be the case. Maybe an ups would help.
Use hwinfo64, hwmonitor might not be the most accurate.

bmx6454 got a reaction from Ash_Kechummm in headset mic not working on pc
cant find any info on that headset in English. if it is using a single 3.5mm 4 pole, that would explain why it works on laptop since afaik, they mostly have 4 pole 3.5mm jacks. most pc's don't, and need a splitter to connect to the headphone jack and mic jack separate.

If you don't need a motherboard: get a 5800x (you can find them in stock)
If you need a motherboard: get a 5600x (in stock) and a decent motherboard.

bmx6454 reacted to Chris Pratt in Help! Can't setup resizable BAR on my PC and I don't know why!
3001/3002 (depending on the specific board) introduced the initial resizable BAR support, but you need at least 3202/3204 (again based on board) for 30-series card compatibility. Update your BIOS.
