  2. Thanks for the tip. I will research it and look for LAG supported switches. Im soon buying some "Mellanox MNPH29D-XTR ConnectX-2" (2x Port 10GbE SFP+) cards to learn more about networking. Still looking for a good used switch in my area and not sure yet what to get.

  6. Thansk for greate reply. have a fiber connection with around 100Mbps up/dows, a RT-AC3200 router, but need a switch since im starting to eat up all the eth ports on the router. Im look to buy (ussed) Linksys LGS116 (approx. $40) and / or NETGEAR GS108 (approx. $30). I am considering the 16 port Linksys becuase I would like to test the performance when using a 4 port eth from the Unraid server / NAS.   7. I do. I have a 3.0 and a 2.0. I would like to use one of them (the 3.0) for a 4G router as a backup if my eth goes down the 4G would kick in. I guess the Pi Zero could use the 2.0 USB port on my router for the Pihole. Atm im testing / setting up Pihole (Docker) on Unraid. I like the idea of compartmentalization some things, but im not sure im it would be best to run Pihole on my Unraid server or a Pi. What do you guys think?
  8. I have been thinking about the same things. What if you dont have enough PCI slots on the motherbord and would like to use a x8 or 16 slot and split it into two x4 or 8 slots to be able to connect more PCI cards?
  9. Yes. What would the difference be to run Pi Hole on a Ubuntu VM / Docker? Maybe I should only get a Pi for a small NAS and a Pi for web server (testing and learning) ?

  12. I’m still very new to this. Just done some research. LAMP = Linux + Apache + MySQL + PHP. I have several hard drives I can use for testing and projects. All I’m missing is some Pi’s. Can’t wait to order and start tinkering:)
  13. I have a spare 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD I can use for the NAS. I’m not sure yet since I already have a 1TB WD NAS, but want to build one with Pi to learn. I guess I don’t need any hard drives for the Pi web servers since I don’t host the video on the Pi’s. Just LAMP & WP on the SD if I’ve understood this correctly so far.
  14. Yeah, would be much more to learn and fun when setting it up our selves, and och save money in the long run. A VPS then wouldn’t be much useful if there are more visitors. My goal is to building a Pi NAS and PiVPN as well with a Pi3 probably as well. I guess I should setup the web server on the Pi4 with 4GB? Any Pi expansion you would want? And what size of SD would you recommend 32-64-128GB + maybe add a small SSD as well if useful in this case?
