mbntr got a reaction from ion_mswd in Ryzen 5000 Series Reviews Discrepancy
that doesn't make much sense, a slower GPU shouldn't be causing that, even with the 3080 intel has better lows.
I would say it's either the architecture, the ram or just bad optimization for the new architecture.

mbntr got a reaction from malawar in im rayan and i am new to pc bulding,im looking opinions
I would wait till early 2021, AMD should have more stock (in GPU and CPU), same for Nvidia.
Intel will have released the new 11th gen that should compete or even beat Zen3 in gaming.
This could lead in lower prices by AMD (and they should have already released the non x series chips) and intel alike.

The 10700k similar in performance to a 3800x, in single and multicore.
Now you could wait for the 5800x or even for the 11700k, but the 5000 series won't be immediately available, and the 11th gen from intel is coming in Q1 2021.
On ryzen the sweet spot is 3200 - 3600 cl 14.
also, be careful when trusting leaks, the leaked benchmarks show similar performance to the 10900k in gaming (ashes of the singularity, a very much dead game), but multi core performance, doesn't matter in that specific workload, in fact, a 10600k beats the 10900k if slightly overclocked with less cores

It also depends on the tubing, in some cases transparent tubes can go bad and leach plasticizer into the loop, then you have to change them too.
I would highly suggest using EK ZMT tubes, looks sick and don't require much maintenance at all.

For people who don't like tinkering just get the 10400

Difference in games is not perceivable for people who aren't looking

Intel is easier to set up and if it's cheaper, go for it

The cables should be labeled CPU/EPS and GPU. Those are wired different on the device side so they can use the same end on the PSU side.

mbntr got a reaction from Lurick in CPU/VGA on PSU
The connector is the same on the PSU side
both CPU and PCIe are 12 volt cables and, in this case corsair, decided to use the same connector for added flexibility in the PSU.
Don't try to smash an EPS12v inside a PCIe connector though!

mbntr reacted to badreg in 14 year old camera in 2020
I use a 13 year old camera for certain commercial projects, because it is the only APS-C body I own. The 10MP sensor is perfect for the amount of compositing I need to do on the images, and is sufficient for the output specs. I charge thousands of dollars a day for a camera that had a <$1000 MSRP at launch and is worth probably around $100 today. It is by far the best ROI camera that I own.

Cameras are tools. If they get the job done, then they're fine. If you need to do something that your current tools can't do, then get a better tool.

The best camera is the one that is with you when you need it. If you're happy, don't change it.
Personally I like to print big and have headroom to crop so this isn't for me, but I'm a DSLR shooter too.

The sony A100 was released a while ago, in 2006, it has a  23,6 x 15,8mm 10mp sensor and can take some decent pictures in the right conditions

This is a photo of my main PC

A pidgeon because that's everything we have in Milan

    A candle

Not you might notice that this photo's aren't perfect, most of them aren't even good, but from a technical point of view the two lenses I've got have a bit of a problem with chromatic aberration, especially in some light conditions
The CCD sensor has some hot pixels, and the AWB is kinda shit, also it can't shoot video, guess why.
The A100 still uses CF cards, and these can still hold their own in speed, less so in capacity (I have a 16Gb model, and it can fill up quite fast when shooting in raw, the camera spits out 10Mb files), but for such an old format, I'd say surprisingly good.
Another fun thing is that it uses the old minolta A mount, you can use old minolta lenses as well as newer sony made ones.
I'd take this camera over a modern phone any day of the week, but that's maybe just me, I don't really like all those software shenanigans

Neither Geekbench nor cinebench use DirectX, I didn't use any form of GPU rendering.
As of AVX support I don't actually know if wine supports AVX or AVX2, but R15 doesn't use AVX (r20 does though).
    Actually, I should try
