  1. I am interested in obtaining a free or low-cost video editor program for screen recording computer labs and create how-to videos. Which one would be the best option and user-friendly for beginners?! Davinci Resolve? Wevideo? Vsdc? Debut Video? There are a lot of options out there. I am looking for a simple, easy to use screen recording. Possible using webcam with virtual background setting. Feedback would be appreciated.
  2. I have dual monitors with vga/dvi cables. My graphic card uses hdmi and dvi connections. I am looking to have a dual monitor and dual pcs setup with a KVM. I want to use one Windows 10 PC and a second PC with Manjaro. I would appreciate recommendations on KVMs.
  3. My nvidia Gt 1030 has DDR5. It might take several months before the Nvida GTX 1050ti or 1650 are available.
  4. Is the Nvidia GTX 750ti still good for gaming and video transcoding?! I see one on sale for $100 CDN. I currently have an Nvidia 1030. Any opinions? It might be a while before I am able to purchase a Nvidia GTX 1050ti and GTX 1650
  5. I do not want these subnets to talk to each other. I want the Guest network to be independent of the IOT. I have 4 IOT devices, 3 laptops, 2 pcs, two television, and a wifi printer. I would like 3 vlans.
  6. I would like to create separate LANs with my T3200 modem. I would like to have one wi-fi for the laptop, a guest wifi, and a separate wifi for IOT devices. The ethernet cables would remains within the same ip address range as the laptops and printers. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do so?! Would an ubiquiti router be the best option?!
  7. Does 1080p vs 720p webcameras make a big difference for video conferencing?! Beyond the resolution scale, will it make a big difference when it comes to the overall experience in video conferencing?! Will background filters be better?!
  8. I have taken Network+ and just finishing MTA Windows Server. In two weeks, I will start Active Directory. After Active Directory and Security+, which courses would you recommend?! I want to work towards Network Administrator. Linux and/or Powershell might be an option. How important is a Github profile in obtaining an IT position?!
  9. I have uncovered a youtube video dedicated to accelertate storage with SSds in Windows 10. Have anyone attempted this setup?! Or would Primocache offer the same results?!
  10. Are course completions from Udemy or Linda worth mentioning on a resume?! In a few short weeks, I will be taking more night courses at a community college, including Active Directory and Security+ thereafter. After I complete these two courses, I will be looking at CCNA or Palo Alto courses online via Udemy and/or Lynda.
  11. I am taking a MTA Windows Server course now. The MTA Windows Server Administration Fundamental certification will retire on June 30, 2022. Is this certification worth pursuing for level 2 IT professionals??
  12. I just bought a 43" samsung HD television. I am concerned that a 480p resolution from a dvd may not take advantage of the HD television
  13. I have an I7-3770 with 16 GB RAM and Nvidia GT 1030 graphics card. (I am waiting for a Nvidia GTX 1050ti or GTX 1650 to become available for purchase). I have 50 DVDs that are converted to 480p video. Is there a means to transcode the video to 1080p?! What program would you recommend? I am using my pc as a plex server. I would like to pretranscode the videos which I will posteriously put on a Synology NAS Dj120. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
  14. I have dedicated 256 MB which is the maximum amount allowed for video memory. I have a Nvidia GT 1030. I wish that there was a way to increase the video amount beyond that. There does appear to be a lag between the video and audio within my Linux VMs, Fedora, Manjaro, Ubuntu and Linux Mint. I used the Oracel VM Virtualbox Extension Pack. Manjaro pops up a message stating "set your Virtualbox graphics controller to VBoxSVGA to enable Windows resizing". Oracle Virtualbox is not permitting this change.
  15. I have installed the guest addition in my VM. However, it does not provide the display options for 1920 x 1080. I attempted in Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora and Manjaro. All have the same results.
