Lol I didnt notice that EVGA did not have scalping prices kudos

People mainly go there to complain.
It is also a great place to go if you are thinking about an RMA since the site is monitored by their product manager.
With posts like "3070 caught on fire" and "Major issues with 3090" it is hard to call it a fanboy site.

Ah ok I didn't know you're going for the hybrid, I'm sure that's a great card... as for issues, most reviewers don't have issues, they also get hand picked card from the manufacturers so they don't have "issues"...
But yeah I also noticed this barely any proper reviews out there for many models (GIGABYTE VISION OC FOR EXAMPLE...)
true it's more of a buying guide and overview - I really like those 'reviews' he puts a lot of effort in them.

So, I'm in "line" for an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Hybrid Gaming, but I can't find any 3rd party reviews of the card. Am I just getting the worst Google results of my life, or is nobody reviewing this variant? Do I really need to be the first to provide a review off the EVGA site for the card?

I certainly hope so... Would suck to get it, and find out the entire line has egregious power spike issues.

BTGbullseye reacted to jones177 in Can't find any 3rd party reviews...
I lurk on the EVGA forums to get info on cards. I find it better than reviews.
The cards with the most issues are the FTW3s 3080 and 3090s.
I originally got in line for the FTW3s since that is what worked out best for my 2080 tis but now I am in line for XC3s.
No news is good news.

BTGbullseye reacted to LogicalDrm in Just wanted to tell Linus and the other reviewers that they suck at their jobs
Why bother posting here if you aren't one to stand behind your words? You also have very poor attitude towards criticism, which is odd if you come from academic world or highly competetive working environment.
Because the lack of content in this thread, and your unwillingness to provide examples to be discussed about, the thread is now locked. If you wish to provide your testing results, do PM me. Or you can post about it to LTT video suggestions thread:

Wait, so you had the time to drop 3 paragraphs, but don't have the time to prove your results? Wait what?
Why even drop the info then? If you are THAT busy, and if you didn't share it RIGHT NOW you would take it to your grave, then don't worry. As you said, its simple enough to test I am sure someone else would find it, relax.
You don't need to break into the command center and tell the general that the apocalypse is about to come and you have NO time to explain!!! Relax man.

Wait, so why do they suck at their jobs? You didn't talk about them in your post.
You don't have evidence for your claims either.

BTGbullseye reacted to Mick Naughty in Just wanted to tell Linus and the other reviewers that they suck at their jobs
According to my testing the 3090 is the best in the world and that’s irrefutable.
But I also don’t have any proof.

The name of the card is longer. Thus it’s better. That’s how most of my testing is conducted.

Well then you can't disprove the HD5450 is far superior in every way 😏

The argument would hold much more water when supplied with actual testing data complete with methodology, control points and whatnot. When you have a hypothesis that's compelling, why would you NOT want to share the results that prove said hypothesis?
Until that comes, it's really just hot air.

Can you back it up with proof beyond words? Show us tangible evidence of this and we may believe you...

BTGbullseye reacted to Fasauceome in Graphics card recommendations for Foxconn 2AB1 motherboard
unfortunately the motherboard does not support a decent CPU upgrade, as any significant generational improvement would require a new socket as well. The CPUs of this generation would not be able to provide anything worth your spending.
A cheap GPU now, or just waiting until you can afford a better system, is the best move.

BTGbullseye reacted to Radium_Angel in Graphics card recommendations for Foxconn 2AB1 motherboard
Ok your biggest challenge is as follows (well, one of many)
(1) GPU princes are all out of whack right now, thanks to many factors, not least of which is miners, scalpers, and memory production issues. So having said that, practically any new GPU is either Out of Stock, or horrendously overpriced.
(2) Even a recently used GPU may need a 6 or 8 pin power connector (it seems the RX 580s come in differing flavours that may, or may not, need external power)
so
(3) Before you add a GPU, you'll need to know if your PSU (Power Supply Unit) is up to the task.
and
(4) given the extremely modest CPU, which is outclassed by practically everything, your GPU will be sitting idle most of the time, while the CPU struggles to provide data to the GPU to render, resulting in less than stellar frame rates in games.
So, back to square one, we need full system specs, or if it's a pre-built, the system model/name at the very least.

BTGbullseye reacted to FakeKGB in Graphics card recommendations for Foxconn 2AB1 motherboard
The used GPU market is screwed up, with inflated prices, etc.
I'd instead put your money towards a better system (a 1600 AF might be good for a lower-budget system) and then get a graphics card later.

BTGbullseye reacted to PriitM in Decision of buying a graphics card out of 3 options
Old 6/7 gen i CPUs are expensive (for instance, i7-7700K is €500 brand new now). I would look at ryzen CPUs for any planned upgrade. People are swapping them out like they did with Intel stuff a few years back. So the second hand market will have better prices in 6 mon/1 year.

BTGbullseye reacted to ElectroBrocoli in Decision of buying a graphics card out of 3 options
i suggest you to chose the rx 5500 xt if you can afford it, if not then pick the 1650 rather than 1050, but if you are a budget guy i'll suggest 1050

BTGbullseye reacted to bellabichon in Is it worth it?
I'm going to say no, that's not a good deal, because $1,600.00 USD is a $550.00 USD markup from MSRP ($1,049.99 USD). But obviously, nothing is a 'good deal' in the GPU market right now.

BTGbullseye reacted to Radium_Angel in I have an ageing GTX 1070, do I buy another for SLI or a whole new GPU?
Unless the games you play are specifically geared towards SLI, it doesn't bring you the boost you were hoping for. A newer (if you can find one) GPU would be the better way to go
-
BTGbullseye reacted to Levent in I have an ageing GTX 1070, do I buy another for SLI or a whole new GPU?
SLI is dead, last time it was atleast somewhat feasible to do so was with 10xx series cards. Get whatever RTX3070+ card you can get your hands on for 4K

BTGbullseye reacted to --SID-- in Is 500w psu enough to power a rtx 2070 and a ryzen 5 3600x?
No. Every 500w EVGA 80 Plus isn't sufficient for 3600X with RTX 2070.
-
BTGbullseye reacted to Mateyyy in Is 500w psu enough to power a rtx 2070 and a ryzen 5 3600x?
Depends on what 500W PSU it is. Can you tell us the exact model?
