I bet it's basically the same chip, in a smaller node (16nm->8nm) with a few tensor cores for DLSS. Lower voltage + bump frequency ~ 2x perf at same power (they only really need to consistently deliver 720p@60 undocked and 1080p@60 docked for DLSS do it's magic). Maybe change the memory for a faster one.

That looks to be using a Tegra X1+ which is a node shrink, clock bump and LP4X support. Tegra X2 is also only Pascal GPU 🤷‍♂️

Sadly, the thing with messaging apps is that you want everyone to use a single one.
For example I am stuck with Facebook Messenger because that's the only thing a lot of my family members use. For some of my friends I am stuck with Discord because it is what they want to use. For some of my online friends I am stuck with Wire because that's the only thing they want to use. For some of my colleagues I am stuck with SMS because they use iMessage and I have an Android phone. Other colleagues use Teams so I have to use that. But some uses WebEx so then I have to use that.
I am pretty tired of using 5+ messaging apps just because people can't find a common platform to use. At least not in my social circle. At this point I'd be happy even with WhatsApp as long as everyone I knew used it.

In what way is Discord better than WhatsApp? In my eyes, Discord is one of the worst messaging apps.
    It doesn't do E2EE.
The program is bloated as hell and uses a ton of resources for no reason (or rather, the reason being that it is a poorly written Electron app).
Discord goes through all messages sent.

Which was exactly my point, at the time the industry cared more about advertising "xx-bit" or "Blast Processing". We had the CDi & 3DO which were touted as 32-bit. Atari even claimed the Jaguar was a 64-bit console despite it only running a 32-bit instruction set.

To the average 11 year old 64-bit was meaningless and the console manufacturers knew it, it was purely a "bigger number therefore better console" mindset.

I'm certainly not claiming the SNES was a bad system, its my favourite system that's ever existed and arguably the greatest gaming console of all time (basing the metric on amount, variety & quality of the games the system had).

Back then they all wanted the same thing, playground arguments over who had the most bits.

gabrielcarvfer got a reaction from Zodiark1593 in M1 Mac owners are experiencing extremely high SSD writes over short periods of time, likely thanks to aggressive swap
They usually use TLC/QLC as SLC, which increases speed at the cost of space. On the other hand, less data written per block = more writes and more blocks written = more cycles = earlier failure.

I would keep track of the available spare.

Isn't that the way that quote goes? Seems like it's relevant here.

Reported by TechCrunch and confirmed as accurate by WhatsApp, starting on May 15th users who have not accepted the new terms of service will no longer be able to send or receive messages and will be shown a banner informing them they must accept the new terms.
Calls will be unaffected for a short period then after that users accounts will be marked as inactive meaning their service stops entirely and they have 120 days to accept the ToS before their account is deleted entirely.
They explained the changes to the ToS in a blog post, essentially as well as WhatsApp giving Facebook its users phone numbers and device info they will now also be sharing buying habits and payment details between the two platforms for the purposes of targeted advertising.

Facebook needs to hurry up and die already. They tried this exact same thing with Oculus needing a Facebook account.

gabrielcarvfer reacted to Eigenvektor in Why the Perseverance Rover computer is so "outdated"
The rover mostly just has to collect data. All of the heavy processing will happen on Earth.

And yeah, it does have different requirements:
Be as reliable as possible Use as little power as possible Be resistant to space, radiation etc. Using bleeding edge technology is no good if you need something that is ultra reliable, because you haven't had decades to fix all the kinks. And smaller process nodes are much more susceptible to stuff like radiation and high energy particles. You don't have a magnetic shield on Mars like you do on Earth.

Call an electrician. If it is sparking, I suggest you to turn it off and disconnect it from the socket, specially if you have carpet/curtain nearby.
The socket could also be wired incorrectly (live and neutral got switched).

40~50% humidity is more than fine.
As long as you don't have a cold surface to condensate, you're fine.
Computers run reasonably hot, so the water will find other colder places to condense (usually glass, wall, metallic surfaces, etc).
Even when we have <10% humidity around here we don't get as many shocks as him, so that carpet definitely needs some grounding or to be removed.
