Communist_Empire reacted to Roarnic in What console(s) do u have?
I got my old PSX, i got from my father as a birthday present.
And recently got a PS2, even though i've owned quite a few games for it for a while - some nice games! (found them in a box, next to some trash.. score!)
and i've still got my ps3, though i had to buy a 2nd one, because buying the whole console with a few controllers, was cheaper than just finding a separate controller for sale.
My Ps4 is in being lend out to a friend.
And i've also got a Wii, and a SNES mini.
And currently under the TV i've got the switch and a PS5 (Everything else is hooked up in my guest room or in storage)
I've also owned the NES, SNES, N64, and a Gamecube.
I mainly play PC though. The consoles are just bought for the exclusive titles.

Ok, thanks for those suggestions and replying.
Communist_Empire reacted to Murasaki in What "older" game would you like to see remade/remastered?
Off the top of my head:
Medal of Honor Allied Assault (yes i know about MOHUE but that wont be done this decade) Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed (probably will never happen because licencing) GTA San Andreas
Communist_Empire reacted to Ithanul in Gaming on PC vs Console.
Personally, I play on both. I like having the ease of choice of just flipping from one to the other (big reason I like games like FH4 that allow saves to work on more than one platform or ones that allow cross-play).
There some games I want to play on my 55" TV and the console just simple to use with it. Plus, I tend to use my console as cheapo multi media machines for playing the music and movies as well.
When I want more of my city building/building games, yeah. I prefer those on PC. Though, I can tolerate them as well on console (Sim CIty on SNES claim a lot of hours to say the least, and I tolerated that with just using a D-Pad).
Then on top, I have no issues using controllers or switching over to KB/Mouse or using both ( I do that with E:D and PSO2). I basically switch to which I feel fits the game for my playstyle.
And yeah, there some days, like after work ( I work IT, so I have to troubleshoot computers as my job). Where I don't even want to bother with the computer. So, I just fire up the console instead and just resume a game (I dig the resume features of the consoles a lot especially on my Switch).
Communist_Empire reacted to Count Lustig in Gaming on PC vs Console.
Same here. I used to game almost exclusively on PC, but slowly I've started to shift toward consoles (PS4 Pro and PS5 in the future, in my case). Can't really explain why.
The price of gaming doesn't really matter, although I rarely buy games at full price.
Mouse+Kb are better at some genres, but playing with a gamepad doesn't ruin the experience.
Maybe it's the simplicity of not dealing with multiple services and the constant feeling of missing some graphical holy grail because my rig isn't top of the line.
Or maybe the couch is more comfortable.
Communist_Empire reacted to WaggishOhio383 in Can't play any type of EA games on XBOX series S
Sounds like your console is allergic to microtransactions XD
Jokes aside, have you tried doing a hard restart on the console? Hold down the power button on the console until it turns off, then unplug the power cable and wait 5 minutes to allow any residual power to drain from the system before plugging back in and turning it back on (maybe try twice if it doesn't work the first time). If that doesn't work, you could try uninstalling the game, removing your account from the Xbox, re-adding your account, and then reinstalling the game, or even do a full factory reset.
Communist_Empire reacted to Fasauceome in How do you decide what sensitivity to use in-game?
I play on a super low sensitivity because I like to use all my mouse real estate for fine aiming
Communist_Empire reacted to kaiju_wars in Is the Xbox one good in 2021?
Do the games suddenly become shit when a new generation hit or a console hits a certain age?
Regardless of if the games are on PC, or all backwards compatible on Series S/X, the Xbox One still is good, because it has a good library of games. It's overshadowed by better ways to play those games, but that doesn't make it shit.
It has a very solid library of games, has some, imo, overlooked first party titles, and third party titles on it are really solid.
Now if you're looking to buy one in 2021, unless you're a collector, just wait till the Series S/X is in stock. Both will run circles around the Xbox One, and it'll have even more games coming out in the future.
But if the Xbox One is something you currently have, and it's really all you have. Yeah, it's still good. It still plays games and it plays the games already out for it, and the ones still to come out for it. There's over 2600 games for the Xbox One, you have a good selection of stuff to play there.
Communist_Empire reacted to SteveGrabowski0 in Did you get the next gen consoles?
It's always going to be like that early on with a new console launch unless you like to play cookie cutter Ubisoft games. I'm sure I'll be playing mostly PS4 games on mine until the end of the year when hopefully Ratchet & Clank Rift, Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, and maybe a good version of Cyberpunk 2077 are out.
Communist_Empire reacted to SteveGrabowski0 in Buying ps4, will it be a good choice now?
Honestly, I might just go for PS5 Digital Edition in your shoes. Most PS4 games are by now pretty cheap on PSN and new PS4 run $300. Might as well pay the extra $100 and get the PS5 Digital for $400 and then you're not buying another new console to play PS5 games when they also get cheap after being out a year or two. Plus first thing you can do is spend $60 to get a year of PS Plus this month and you get the following PS4 games
God of War Bloodborne (still buy the DLC though, it's incredible) The Last of Us Control Ultimate Edition (actually the native PS5 version) Persona 5 Uncharted 4 Monster Hunter World Fallout 4 Ratchet & Clank Days Gone (actually the native PS5 version) Until Dawn Resident Evil 7 inFAMOUS: Second Son The Last Guardian Crash Bandicoot NSane Trilogy Batman Arkham Knight Detroit Become Human Mortal Kombat X Battlefield 1 Final Fantasy XV COD Black Ops III Zobmies Chronicles
Damn didn't realize how much you actually get with PS Plus on a PS5 until I typed it out. Note you'd need to get PS Plus and claim Control this month though to get it. That's pretty easily your first year of gaming on the system for $60 though. Damn seeing all that makes me think the PS5 Digital Edition and PS Plus might actually be cheaper than even buying a used PS4 and a bunch of games.
Communist_Empire reacted to Master Disaster in Where can I download The Simpsons: Hit and Run for PC?
No, that would be (possibly) facilitating piracy. Its there in the Computer Software Archive.
Communist_Empire got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in Where can I download The Simpsons: Hit and Run for PC?
thx sorry if I bothered you a lot.
Communist_Empire reacted to PlayStation 2 in Where can I download The Simpsons: Hit and Run for PC?
From what I remember, everything you just asked can be solved with the Donut Mod launcher, or whatever the hell it's called (it's been a minute lol). And that includes controller support, although be warned that it might be a little spotty just on account of it's a game from 2003.
I'd wholly recommend using the launcher anyways. It makes playing the game on a modern PC really easy.
Communist_Empire reacted to SteveGrabowski0 in PS5 (Physical) or Xbox Series X?
Main argument for PS5 isn't the launch exclusives, it's the exclusives likely coming in 2021 such as Ratchet & Clank Rift, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok. XBox finally has some really talented studios to make exclusives for it though between all of Bethesda, Obsidian, and Ninja Theory so I could see Series X being amazing over the generation like the XBox 360 was for the first half of its generation before Don Mattrick tried to turn it into a casual box.
For me, I'll probably get PS5 this year for Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima (def want to play that at 60 fps) plus the three games I mentioned above. And because the XBox exclusives I'm looking forward to such as Elder Scrolls and Hellblade II plus whatever RPG Obsidian does next look to be years away. When those start coming out then I'll evaluate whether PC offers enough value to prefer over Series X. Nice to have the choice of PC vs Series X there. I definitely won't be wanting to play the next Elder Scrolls on PS5 though considering how much stronger the Series X gpu is vs PS5 (I think it's 12TFLOPS vs 10TFLOPS).
Communist_Empire reacted to Gamer Schnitzel in Crysis Remastered or the Original for PC?
Definitely get the original and don't listen to the best answer. Just because the remastered gives you over 60 FPS it doesn't make it better. There are in depth videos on Youtube where people explain why the original is superior. They cut out a lot of shit from the remastered and it doesn't run well on PC because it's a shitty console port. The game also looks colourless in the remastered and they fade out shit in the distance.
Communist_Empire reacted to Donut417 in Wait for the Rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro or just buy Original?
Nintendo I dont think has said anything. So who knows when it may be released rumors suggest next year sometime.
If you do get a current switch. Get a V2 model. It has a slightly better CPU that provides a bit better battery life.
Communist_Empire reacted to danomicar in Wait for the Rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro or just buy Original?
The existing switch is already great, imo. Even if the rumors are true, it could be a long time before they come on the market.
