I use compressed air at the shop and wait 24 hours to prevent short circuit because it may contain air in the air lines, the best tool is compressed air cans or electric air blowers. Contact cleaner is meant to clean dirty contacts on automotive and heavy duty equipment.

First gen Ryzen's are known to have issues with memory speed, maybe you could look to update the bios of you board to the latest BEFORE it was updated for Ryzen second gen.

Zen 2 CPU having heat spikes is a common thing, it react faster then Zen+ did and on the 7nm node it generate heat faster then on 12nm. It's nothing to worry about, just a normal behaviour, look how fast the CPU react to single core boost load.

Everything is just fine, your CPU won't die because it's at 50C on light load, it just mean it's boost very high on single core boost and there are voltage spikes which are normal behaviour of Zen 2

    Mathieu9836 got a reaction from Ben17 in would ryzen 7 2700x bottleneck rtx 2070
I will disagree that the 3600 perform better then the 2700, the 2700 is cheaper then the 3600 (in Canada at least), they perform about the same in average FPS. The 2700 can be overclocked to the same as the 2700X and they are very low priced these days. Get 3200mhz cl14 ram and you will probably outperform a stock 3600 cpu. The 2nd gen Ryzen is still very impresive when overlocked, most people think 3rd gen Ryzen are way better then the 2nd gen but it's not that much of an increase in overall performance.
Get the MSI B450 Tomahawk or the X470 Pro Carbon if you can afford it, with a Ryzen 2700 and 3200mhz cl14 RAM, you won't regret not buying a 3rd gen Ryzen.

That is not true at all, TN panel have the fastest reponse time, VA panel struggle to get more then 10ms response time, IPS can get as low as 4ms and the cheap TN panel can get 1ms (3ms in reality) which is really what matter in E-Sport titles.

The 8400 will be the bottleneck here BUT most people don't see any difference between 75 and 120FPS anyway sooooo yeah, if you want to extra frames get something with more cores even if single core speed is still important, multicore is also  a thing for 1% lows. I've seen a 10% increase going from a R5 2400G with an RX580 to an R7 2700, when you have 60fps average it doesnt make much difference, but it's what can hold you to 120fps instead of 144fps.

The Asus B50 Prime as very weak power deliviery, Top 5 worst board on B450/X470 chipset
Stick with those boards all NON-MAX versions if possible:
MSI B450-A Pro MSI B450 Gaming Plus
MSI B450M Gaming Plus MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC MSI B450 Tomahawk

Yes it is, if you are talking about the lenght of the pins not being equal across the stick.
You are probably trying to boot a Zen 2 CPU on a MSI board that need to be updated.

Avoid making the same mistake i made a year ago, get the extra 20$ and buy the MSI B450 Tomahawk.
I can assure you if you get the Asus B450m prime you won't be able to get a decent OC on with a 2600, and the VRMs are probably be running hot and unstable. If you don't have the money to buy a decent board, you should wait a little longer.

Mathieu9836 got a reaction from Mister Woof in Ryzen 5 3500 vs 3600
IMO the 3600 is worth the money, it as a faster boost clockspeed, and 6 additional threads. The 3500 almost a 3200G but without the onboard graphics.
Edit: But the 3500 as the Zen 2 architecture and the additional 15% IPC boost. I would like to see how the 2600 stand against the 3500 for the price.

Look at the CPU load. If you consider there is still overclocking headroom with the 2600, it might be a better option if you game and video edit/render.

Do you plan to buy another CPU in the futur, like when the AM5 socket will come out you plan to get the ryzen 4600 or something else?
The MSI B450 A-Pro will get the job done, i would consider spending a little more money and get the Tomahawk or Pro Carbon, they use the same VRMs but have more features on them.
Try to avoid the MAX boards, they have their BIOS updated for Zen 2 and it's far from optimal for Zen+ CPUs, you want to stick with older BIOSes.

The layout of the Mosfets on your particular board look like you will have a hard time trying to put a heatsink on them, i suggest you to have the best airflow you can in your case OR replace your motherboard.
What is telling you that your VRMs are overheating?

The best way to spend money in trying to futurproof your hardware, you buy the top of the line stuff and then BOOM, better product for almost the same price and then your 1400$ GPU is now worth 800$, your 550$ motherboard is now worth 350, your 800$ CPU is now way slower then the new 700 CPU...
I'm not a rich person too, i work as a mechanic a have a decent living out of it, but buying the high end stuff is a real waste of money to me, buying the 2080ti is not even in my mind, at least new.

I build my first PC a year ago, then i started buying better parts, Bought a used Crosshair 7 hero which at the time was the best motherboard you can get, then Zen 2 came out, the Ryzen 2700 was on sale at 270CAD, bought the older CPU instead of the new stuff for half the price of the new 3700X. Have an RX580 and thinking about upgrading it for what? I play 1080p Ultra setting with round 75FPS in the games i enjoy, why upgrading?

You only can be the judge if it'S worth it, but what i highly suggest you to do is, buy a good motherboard, futurproof that part. Then put a Ryzen 3600 on it, with an RX5700XT.
New year when the 4th gen come out, you can buy a new CPU and sell the 3600, see if a GPU upgrade is worth it, you will have spared money to improve your PC one more time. That what i would do, you need to be able burn a lot of money to buy the High end stuff that will loose half of it's value next year.

You will be more limit by the 3400G itself then the 8 lanes. There is only a 2-3% gain from 8 to 16 lanes.

Running your 4400mhz kit at 4400mhz? There is not a lot of Memory controller able to handle that speed. I would try downclock the 4400mhz to something around 3600mhz and get the tightest timings possible, increase clockspeed on the 3200mhz kit and see how low the timings can go. I doubt the 3200mhz kit will be better tho.... 4400mhz CL19 is really really good.
