Line 4 of your Javascript you have a spelling mistake. Missing an 's' in password. Define variable 'pasword' and then do a comparison with variable 'password'.

Prices aren't outrageous for MSs business model. A beyond competent OS that will last you years. If you can't pay for that, that is not MSs problem and it certainly isn't the price that is the issue. Far more expensive and far more niche software exists that I've paid for, Windows is a worthy investment.

Apple subsidizes using hardware. Ms does not.
OSX would be just as pricey as a standalone, let's not try and pretend otherwise.

Its is highly unlikely  for a phone to be able to effect any of the control systems of a plane they all use analog systems. The gps tracking system in separate from the controls Autopilot  is always overridden by any manual input. The entertainment systems are one of the few digital systems on the plane and are not connected  to any serious systems. The in flight phone system is separate along with the newer wifi systems.

This article was written to scare people and to promote their toolkit nothing more then that.

Why would a co-pilot, inside a plane, lock the pilot out and crash straight into the alps? Some people want to kill others, just to kill.

It was a light-hearted joke. I'm just personally not a fan of Apple products, I thought some people would be entertained though.

Considering you're asking this question, it sounds like you have no idea what you are doing, and therefore you're not gonna have fun. At any rate I would recommend notepad++ for coding random things on windows. There are much better IDE's for specific languages but notepad++ works for 99% of the stuff you want to do.

Although for your project I would honestly have to suggest that you start with raspbian and work on it from within your installation, using either emacs or vim as your editor. Rather than producing your own distro it would be much easier to just write some automated scripts to do what you want and maybe a custom GUI.

What kind of magic IDE can fix ugly functions, pyramid declarations and what not? Sure, it can fix up inconsistencies in function declarations and variable naming etc., but there's no way it'd be able to just "fix the code" in all situations. If that was the case, then why'd we need programmers?

TheYoungEnthusiast reacted to MikeD in Apparently Facebook runs on 60+ Million lines of Code
I don't understand why you all think an F-35 or even a space shuttle should have more lines of code than facebook or any other website.

In an aircraft or any other mission critical equipment where lives may be in danger (e.g. medical devices) you want a real-time system with extremely efficient code and no clutter. Just the bare minimum to perform the required tasks with extremely high precision. And you need to mathematically prove the correctness of most, if not all, algorithms if you want to send a space shuttle to outer space without it exploding mid-air because some value was losing precision throughout the calculations. The less code you have the less bugs you have to deal with.

In facebook you are expecting the backend to manage your selfies and an array of other media types across several servers spread throughout the world in a secure fashion and to have a nice frontend to post your thoughts and upload your pictures and whatnot. Not to mention mobile apps, the code that goes into linking several platforms (you could upload pictures by sending them in an email to a specific facebook address not long ago, I believe), security, reliability, load-balancing algorithms for your data, advertisement, games (API's that enable these) and a slew of other "details" that need to be managed.
And that's not counting each user's html page, otherwise the figure would be much higher (several orders of magnitude; besides, pages load dynamically, they are not static) but they should be counting (and probably are) the frontend (HTML templates, CSS, javascript, ...) that is needed to render those pages.

Neck beard alert. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF SAFE THEN GOOD FOR YOU. IT DOESN'T MEANS THAT OTHERS "DESERVES" TO GET RIPPED OFF.
If you're a true tech guy, heck a kind human being you'll help others when you can and not make a fuss about it. This is like the victim shaming from the fappening all over again.
Back to the topic at hand, hell I got to beef up security again. The net is a dark and dangerous place if you don't know your way around it
