By December (hopefully) stock will have been mostly replenished. PSUs should go down substancially, B550 will be out and in full swing, and GPU prices may get interesting around then.
I wouldn't plan too heavily now.

I agree with the forum's general sentiment. Even if this is viable through jimmy rigged connectors and 3rd party drivers, you're still talking about buying old dead socket gear for an old GPU currently worth less that $150.
Sell what you can for what you can get and buy into a better setup.

Certain power supplies lack protections sufficient for high TDP graphics cards, and other parts.
Poor advice could literally melt down, fry, or even catch fire to components in your PC.

If not then this system is pretty bad. Pretty much along the lines of a mid range system from 10 years ago still.

If you're considering buying all new RAM ($60-70) for small gains, a $20 SSD boot drive will give notably smoother experience for your money...
I would be amazed if you were unhappy with that money spent.

This one is budget friendly and has a DRAM cache, so it's the one I'd go with. I've got a few and I'm happy with them for the price.

3000-3200mhz is the sweet spot for Zen+, but the performance gains in moving from 2666 to 3200 aren't going to be massive. Try overclocking what you've got, you can probably get it in the 2933 range, which is pretty much there.
I do recommend getting a second stick for dual channel, since that absolutely will mean gains. Likely a 10% improvement or more.
In terms of bang for your buck, that's the way to go since again you're probably looking at $20-25 total.

If third gen ryzen isn't an upgrade, fourth gen probably won't be much either. The difference between the 2600 and 3600 is pretty notable in quite a few games, and if you're targeting high frames per second, it's hardly a bad choice.

There is also the rumored "3600 XT" with really high clocks, but I have my doubts about its existence (we'll see)

Good build for OP. You might put a few extra bucks into the GPU cooler, since the Windforce can get pretty noisy. (You might not care, and that's fine.)
Something like an XC Ultra gaming shouldn't cost much more.

This is about the time that AMD should be cutting costs on their CPUs anyway, if they're following the trend of their last CPUs. If I recall, there have historically been small price drops leading up to their next gen (the 3600 is already available for about $25 less than launch price, has been for a while) with their Ryzen 7 CPUs seeing this adjustment last.

What is not as certain is what will happen to their Ryzen 3 CPUs. The 3100 and 3300X came out so recently, and will have been on the market for such a short time when 4th gen hits, so I'm not sure if they'll see replacements or price drops anytime soon.
