I was able to get both from Gamestop. Then another from PS direct (sold to friend at cost).

    4. See what AMD has to offer literally tomorrow and make a decision when third party reviews are out on these new cards.

If you're adamant on going with Nvidia, I wouldn't suggest buying a used 2080ti unless you get a good deal below what you can buy a 3070 for. (if at all lol)

for your modelling purposes, can your software use 2 GPUs? If not, ditch the second 3080 cause SLI is not supported.

as for CPU, the Ryzen 9 5900X or 5950X are preferable for your purposes, they're a lot faster than the 10900K in multicore and we are probably looking at a decent single core advantage as well.

DesolationGod reacted to minibois in Geforce RTX 2080 Super "779.99$" and Rtx 3080 "699.99" Why 2080 expensive?
Don't compare videocards based on clockspeeds.
Base it on actual peformance in benchmarks.
The 3080 seems to be two times as fast as the 2080 AT BEST. Usually it's more like 1.5-1.7 times its performance.
We've had rumors about a September launch since August, rumors in general for longer.
The past three weeks have been nothing but people on this forum recommending people to wait out the new launches.
Watch a review or two and decide if the extra performance is worth it.
If you can return the 2080 Super and can get an RTX 3080, it's definitely worth it.

As an overall view on performance difference:

    121 vs 171 fps.

I've got a 1080 ti and it unfortunately isn't up to it for my needs anymore which is kinda crazy for a card that's only just over 3 years old. It's still a beast but if I can't get over 85fps at high-max settings playing at 3440x1440p on newer titles then it's time to move on.

I have been a customer of Newegg for going on 14 years, both personal and business. Rarely if ever have any problems. I have not had issues with returns. Customer support has been great the few times I have needed.

Also, keep in mind I only order items marked shipped by newegg.

DesolationGod got a reaction from chshrkt in Is Star Citizen a giant scam?
Basically Short story is the crowd funding happened in 2012... from then they were a team of like 12 i think or something. They had to build up the company(its at 500+ now people), Heavily modify cryengine to work with the game they wanted(64 bit conversion, procedural tech, etc), and yes feature creep tho that has stopped(mostly). The first few years were mostly spent building the company/engine/tools to actually build the game, stuff you normally do not see companies do in the public light. Now its at a point where (hopefully) the single player game will launch next year(they plan a marketing campaign with some new investor money later this year). The online portion is being built and is likely a few years before it reaches the full 100+ star systems promised.  They made missteps with outside contractors early on which didnt work out and forced a lot of reworks so they brought all development in house and ofc CR let his imagination run away but overall no its not a scam. If it was, they are the worst scammers in history(what scammer actually spends most of the money on the product they are scamming you with).

As for the prices, Its the same price to get a PU game package as most games, $45-60 which lets you download and test the PU in its current state, . They do sell ships for alot more but thats to fund the development of the game and not required as everything can be earned in the PU when it stops getting reset after server meshing development is finished.

In the end we will get the single player game next year likely and some form of the online game that was promised in the months/years to follow as that will be updated quarterly

the pricing on 550 is quite ridiculous.. when you can get the 570 version for only slightly more or in the case of the taichi the same price... i mean the pricing defeats the entire purpose of using a x50 series board

Considering that I bought the Asus Prime X570-P board for $149.99, I am not interested at all in this launch. All these boards are priced at that or way more... How is that even competitive? Nevertheless the X570-P board has an amazing VRM and great memory support. What do these boards offer that the X570-P does not? Considering some are over $50 more...
