Kilrah reacted to Electronics Wizardy in 48g ram?
I wouldn't make a ram drive here, Just use ssds for storage space, and let windows manage caching disks.
What are your full system specs?

Kilrah got a reaction from Middcore in Too anxious to try TT riser cable
Becasue neither are valid affirmations.
There is no reason it would damage anything, but nobody can't say with 100% certainty that it won't, since anything can always happen to be defective and break something if you're really unlucky.

Kilrah reacted to Jurrunio in Why does my RAM have a 10 NS higher latency than a reviewer with the same specs?
Also there's run to run variance, +- 5% between runs is very normal and further compounded by background tasks (and that's why serious benchmarkers stick to old versions of Windows without all that crap implemented over the years)
How to figure out? Get a Crosshair 8 Hero, install v.2311 BIOS (hopefully it lets you do so) and run the test on a clean install of Windows 7. This may sound harsh but there are so many variables at play that there's no easier way to find the cause.

Kilrah reacted to Stahlmann in HDR brightness to properly simulate a sun on screen
Yeah but that's not really noticeable in real content is it? You can barely see it even when especially watching out for it.
(Tbh i don't even see it in your picture...)

How? It's gold, literally one of the things that hold their value best. Just melt it and sell it again if you can't afford to keep it.

What you think you might break by using it?
People have told you everything they could tell you several times already, no point making more threads about it, you do it or don't, up to you.

Kilrah reacted to LogicalDrm in what are some impacts tech will have on games
Ok, with your last thread you had some actual content to start. Now this is more clear you are just lazy and don't want to think your homework yourself.
If you are studying to become game designer, I think you really should work and research things yourself. Letting others do the thinking means that you might be on wrong field, or just not gonna survive once you are trying to look for work and the employer asks this same question from you.
Which is why, Locked.

Nothing, and they're providing the service they should. Connect your phone to the 5GHz Wifi (that's not the same as 5G cellular).
What phone do you have?

Well, just because it's boring doesn't mean you need to break something.

Kilrah got a reaction from Lurick in Help with Open dns please
Probably need to disable "smart setup" or enable advanced mode somehow to get access to this kind of setting.

Kilrah reacted to For Science! in Too anxious to try TT riser cable
This has been discussed over and over, and nothing has changed. You are looking for excuses not to do it, and at this point I would recommend you to just throw the riser away.

Kilrah reacted to shaz2sxy in Too anxious to try TT riser cable
nothing crazy
- if its faulty - you might get issues with games not working
- no display etc
Its not the NZXT H1 riser cable lol

Kilrah reacted to UpTheDons in what are some impacts tech will have on games
What type of tech are we talking about? You might want to narrow it down to make it easier to discuss as "tech" is quite a broad subject.

Kilrah reacted to Stahlmann in We're Making a SOLID GOLD Xbox Controller
This is one of the "because we can" videos. But all in all i found the content about gold casting pretty interesting.

Kilrah reacted to The Blackhat in We're Making a SOLID GOLD Xbox Controller
lol...
So someone/a company who has made their own money through the accomplishments* of themselves can't do interesting/maybe dumb things with that money simply because someone else in the world is having issues? This reads a lot like the guy who said no one with money should be able to buy something nice for themselves but have to live as if impoverished and should donate all their money to charity.
*I absolutely consider what Linus/LTT have done to be an accomplishment. Building such a massive, successful business from basically nothing is definitely an example of merit.

Kilrah reacted to Kroon in We're Making a SOLID GOLD Xbox Controller
It's still gold mate! All they need to do is to melt it down and they get the money money back.

Kilrah got a reaction from Hymenopus_Coronatus in Problems with my RTX 3070. Constant crashing and instability.
You've now got both a PCIe Gen4 capable mobo and GPU, so they'll try to run at that speed but the riser likely degrades the signal too much, there aren't really many that are properly rated for 4.0 at the moment.
So go in the BIOS and manually limit the slot to PCIe Gen3.
