I'm currently working at a multi-national IT-BPO company, currently under the area of cloud infrastructure support, but I was able to work with actual servers on my previous job. Though I'm doing fine with cloud and on-premise infrastructure, I still hope to be able to go back to programming.

I currently have 2 Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 4, 2 Android tablets (Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and a generic-ish one that I don't use anymore), a 7-year old HP G42-368TX laptop, and a recently-bought used Samsung Gear VR SM-R323. I still dream of building my own 2-monitor-ish gaming rig complete with RGB lol

  1. Rocket League has been removed from Steam as it becomes free-to-play. The game can now only be acquired thru Epic Games store. Aside from that, user also gets a $10 coupon that can be applied as a discount for the next purchase. Quotes Interestingly, Epic Games Store is offering a 10 USD coupon for players who download the game its games launcher. I just found out about Rocket League becoming free-to-play on one of the Facebook groups I'm currently in. I was actually waiting for this to become on sale on Steam until someone posted t
  2. There's no option in the BIOS, probably because of the "dedicated" word on the specs. But I was able to do it on my work laptop running on Intel, though. But my laptop's running smooth so far, and I haven't reached 100% memory usage yet, so I'm fine for now.
  3. Yep, that's what I did. I ordered 2x8GB RAM sticks, and had them installed by the computer store before they had it delivered to our house just so the 2-year warranty won't be voided. And here she is: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43-R2WK AMD Ryzen 7 3750H NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB 16GB DDR4 2400MHz dual-channel RAM 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS Display 256GB m.2 SSD + 1 TB HDD (with 1 more m.2 slot) 2x USB 3.0 Type A + 1x USB 3.0 Type C + 1x USB 2.0 ports HDMI Gigabit Ethernet Port Headphone Combo Jack I f
  4. Yeah that's what I've observed also when I watched a review. 3750H is slightly lower, but almost the same as 8300H. Good to know that. Thanks for the confirmation! I hope it's still on stock tomorrow when I finalize my purchase.
  5. I only have a budget of around $800 since this is an unplanned expense. I wanted to put off buying a new one, but I can't use my work laptop for a lot of personal things since, aside from having hardware and software restrictions (I have to wait for 4 years before I can buy the laptop from my company and have all the restrictions removed), it doesn't have a discrete GPU that would allow me to enjoy games properly (It's an HP Elitebook 840 G6 with Intel Core i5-8365U and Intel UHD Graphics 620). Also, based on looking up the requirements for the games I'll play like GTA V, MS Flight Simulator,
  6. Hi guys. I'm replacing my 9-year old HP laptop due to hardware issue I may have caused with an Acer 5 Nitro laptop so I can play games properly unlike my old laptop. The ones I'm currently looking at have GTX1650 graphics on them. As for the processor, I'm looking at Intel Core i5-8300H, i5-9300H, and AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processors. I've been inquiring at the stores here lately, and the Intel ones are out of stock, and they don't know when they'll be available again. The current option I have is the 3750H, which is available at Acer's official store. I've also done my research and lo
  7. Just saw this ad on my Facebook newsfeed. This might be a good sequel to the phone watercooling series. Looks less janky than that copper plate strapped to the back of the phone. See if this is more effective than that. Upon checking, the seller is from China so you may start looking from there. This seems to be only worth around US$20 if there's no discount.
  8. I just noticed that the back glass of Linus' Note 9 is cracked. Perhaps he can do a video or 2 about replacing it. Also a perfect opportunity to be sponsored by iFixIt lol
  9. No news about them yet. Sammobile has an unofficial list based on how Samsung updates its devices (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/android-10-update) but I suggest waiting for the official list from Samsung itself.
  10. Source: Android Authority - https://www.androidauthority.com/one-ui-2-s9-note-9-1056286/ I'm sure Linus would be so happy to know that his Note 9 will get Android 10.
  11. Not really an issue, but I figured I'd still ask here. Am I violating anything if I post somewhere (Reddit, for example) a screenshot of a video released in Floatplane but not yet in Youtube? It's just a meme.
  12. This is not yet in Floatplane: UPDATE: It's now up. Thanks!
  13. I tried applying before for Floatplane, and based on their form, it seems they're willing to accept people from outside Canada as long as they're willing to relocate and have the necessary documents to work.
