  1. Hi. I recently bought an L24q-10 1440p monitor for my pc, however I've been running into some issues. Firstly, the brightness and contrast don't save, and whenever I put the pc to sleep or power it down, they reset, which gets annoying really fast. On the amazon page reviewers say to use the Nova vision Text Mode setting in the OSD, and that will save all your brightness and contrast settings, however when I switch to text mode, the brightness and contrast settings are greyed out , and I can't edit my brightness at all. Another minor annoyance I have, which might be to do with windows 10
  2. The title says it all really. I'm looking at getting an x370 board, and I found these 2 x370 boards on amazon, but I can't find out the difference between them (other than one specifically saying that it has crossfire support). https://www.amazon.co.uk/GIGABYTE-GA-AX370M-DS3H-Socket-S-ATA-Motherboard/dp/B079JZ9J2B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1535105775&sr=8-1&keywords=x370+motherboard https://www.amazon.co.uk/GIGABYTE-GA-AX370-GAMING-Socket-S-ATA-Motherboard/dp/B079JYKLSJ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1535105775&sr=8-5&keywords=x370+motherboard#HLCXComparisonWidget_featur
  3. This may be the wrong catagory to put this post in (sorry if it is), but I was just wondering, is Cyber Monday actually good for PC part reductions, or is it not worth waiting for (I'm currently wondering whether I should delay a build until cyber monday or black friday or not...)
  4. I've just been wondering what the forum's recommended budget, ATX cases are. I'm looking for a price range between £20-£30 (35 ish being the absolute max I'm willing to pay.) Thanks in advance and comment away!
  5. Does anyone think the new cards will cause the price of the current gtx 1060 to drop or increase at all? Also, does anyone think the gtx1160 will be a similar price to the current 1060, or be more expensive?
  6. Something I've been wondering (since I posted this topic) is whether such a powerful cpu would be bottlenecked by the graphics card i've picked out (a gtx 1060)?
  7. Thanks for clearing things up. Are the ryzen cpus that much better than the i5 cpus?
  8. I've been trying to put a mid range gaming pc build together, but I can't help thinking I can do better with the cpu and motherboard. Currently I have (in my list) a Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and an intel core i5 8400 (6 core) processor, however someone recommended that I either try a B360 motherboard (which is a similar price to the z370 board anyway) or I try a 2600 (I assume an i7 2600) which is more expensive than the i5 with 2 less cores. I would like some advice as to whether I should do any of the above, or other "budget" (I don't really want to go above £200 for
  9. Many Thanks for the info. I have removed the cooler (which I wasn't sure I needed anyway), but I was also wondering if it would be necessary to get extra case fan/s? I may also be able to squeeze out some extra money and get 2 8GB sticks (maybe...). Chrysalis's advice about the cpu has confused me a bit though. Wouldn't a 6core i5 be betther than a 4core i7? Or is the cpu a bit overkill for the GPU i'm getting? (My idea behind getting a high end cpu was that it's easier to upgrade a gpu later, than upgrading a cpu. Is this correct?) Also from what I can find b350 boards are AMD socke
  10. Hi. I've been wanting to build a decent gaming pc for a while now, and I put a list together of the parts I thought of using. I would just like a 2nd (or 3rd) opinion as to whether these are the best parts I could go for, for my price range. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/AdriandeLima/saved/tZ9GGX My current price range is not exceding £700 ($905.91) by much (current build is £710.31 excluding the monitor). I would also appreciate any advice for a first time build as well. Many Thanks!
